1 TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF?
Good morning, Sir. I am Mohan Singh from Bhind, Madhya Pradesh. I completed my secondary and
higher secondary education with PCM from Bhind itself, securing 89.6% and 90%marks respectively. I
hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University, and at present, I am preparing for the CDS
examination. Talking about my interests, I enjoy watching movies and web series, listening to music,
reading books, cooking, spending time with friends, and writing a diary. Overall, I consider myself a
lively, curious, and optimistic individual who enjoys life, learns from experiences, and continuously
works on self-improvement.
2 State a incident in which you learned from your experiences ?
Sir, one important learning from my experience is that a person doesn’t need to be extraordinary to
succeed — being genuine, consistent, and willing to improve is enough. Earlier, I used to watch
interviews of recommended candidates and tried to find some special quality in them, thinking that only
extraordinary people get selected. But over time, I realized that there is no such special ingredient. It is
about believing in your abilities and working consistently on your strengths and weaknesses. This
changed my approach — instead of trying to become someone else, I started focusing on improving
myself step by step, whether in my routine, studies, or overall personality. This experience taught me
the importance of self-belief and continuous improvement.
3 Which extracurricular activities did you participate in? What were your achievements during
school/college?
Sir, I have participated in several extracurricular activities during my school and college days. During
school, I was actively involved in group discussions, speeches, and sports like volleyball and kho-kho. I
also represented my school in volleyball and kho-kho at inter-school competitions held on Police Day in
Bhind. One of my key experiences was directing, scripting, and editing a short film in class 12th, where I
coordinated with my team and managed the execution, which improved my teamwork and planning
skills. In college, I became more active through different societies. I was part of the Corporates, The
Commerce Society, where I worked in the Sponsorship and PR team, handled sponsor communication,
and coordinated with different teams during our annual fest. I was also associated with the Connecting
Dreams Foundation under Project Naturals, where I set up stalls, managed on-ground coordination
during donation drives, and played an active role in events like the 22nd National Athletics
Championship for the Blind held at Thyagraj Stadium, New Delhi, and the Cancer Crusaders event at RK
Khanna Stadium by helping coordinate participants and ensure smooth [Link], I joined
NCC, where working closely with others gave me a strong sense of brotherhood and helped me develop
patience and confidence, especially while handling group responsibilities and managing time alongside
myroutine. I also explored societies like NSS, FCC, and Prakriti, but later focused on activities where I
could contribute more effectively.
Overall, these experiences helped me become more organized, socially adaptable, and confident in
handling responsibilities in different situations.
4 What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Sir, I consider myself a practical and adaptable person who tries to understand situations clearly and
respond accordingly. One of my key strengths is that I put sincere effort into whatever task I take up and
try to give my best, whether it is a small responsibility or a bigger one. I also take initiative when
required and work well in a team. I generally try to stay positive and keep the environment comfortable,
even during challenging situations. As for my weaknesses, I have observed that at times I lack
consistency and tend to overthink things, especially while planning. However, I am working on it by
setting clear priorities and time-bound goals. I am also working on being more precise in my
communication. Overall, I am aware of these areas and am consistently working on them to become
more effective and balanced in my approach.
5 Tell me about your hobbies and interests. How do you spend your free time?
Sir, my hobbies include watching movies and web series, listening to music, reading books, cooking,
talking to friends, and writing a diary. In my free time, I use these activities to relax and also improve my
thinking and communication. Overall, they help me stay balanced and keep learning.
6 Tell me about your favourite movie and why it is your favourite?
Sir, my favourite web series is Game of Thrones because it presents realistic leadership challenges
where decisions have real consequences. I particularly admire Jon Snow for his ability to take
responsibility, make tough decisions, and stand by his values even when he faces opposition. One line
that stayed with me is, “Kill the boy, Jon Snow. Let the man be born.” I relate it to developing maturity
and taking ownership of my actions. I try to apply this in my life by staying accountable, thinking calmly
in pressure situations, and focusing on doing what is right rather than what is easy.
7 How do movies influence society or youth?
Sir, I believe movies play a vital role in influencing society and especially the youth. The kind of content
a person consumes directly shapes their mentality, values, and thinking process. Many times,
wesubconsciously start relating to our favourite characters — their confidence, lifestyle, or way of
handling challenges — and our actions begin to reflect those traits without us even realizing it. That’s
why I feel movies have both the power to inspire and the responsibility to convey positive messages.
Films that promote courage, discipline, and social awareness can motivate people to bring similar
changes in their own lives.
7. which book your favourite book and why? What you learned from them?
Sir, I read both fiction and non-fiction, but I mostly prefer self-help and personality development books
because they help me improve my thought process and learn from others’ experiences. One of
myfavourite books is Atomic Habits by James Clear. It taught me practical and scientific ways to develop
discipline. Concepts like the 1% Rule, Habit Stacking, and Environment Design helped me build
productive routines and remove unhelpful ones. The idea that “small changes lead to remarkable
results” truly changed how I approach growth. It also made me realize that lasting improvement doesn’t
come from motivation alone, but from creating the right systems and being consistent. Another book
that deeply inspired me is Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins. It emphasizes mental toughness, discipline,
and breaking mental barriers. One of the most powerful ideas from the book is the Accountability
Mirror, which is about looking at yourself honestly, identifying your weaknesses, and taking full
responsibility for improving them. I’ve applied this in my life by regularly reflecting on my actions and
working on areas where I fall short. Overall, both books have helped me become more self-aware,
consistent, and mentally strong, which I try to apply in my studies, physical fitness, and daily life. the list
of books that I have read are you can win, think straight, cant hurt me, atomic habits, the subtle art of
not giving a fuck
8 What do you usually talk about with your friends? What kind of people do you like to be around?
How do you deal with disagreements among friends?
Sir, when I talk with my friends, there isn’t any fixed topic — our conversations are quite random and
natural. Sometimes we talk about how everyone is doing, share memories from our school and college
life, and have a good laugh together. And when someone is going through a tough time, we try to cheer
him up and support him as a group. I don’t limit myself to a specific group — I like being friendly with
everyone and enjoy spending time with people who are positive, genuine, and easygoing. I believe every
person has something good to learn from. If we ever have disagreements, we usually discuss them
openly within the group and reach a common conclusion that seems fair to everyone. We don’t let small
issues affect our friendship.
9 Do your friends influence you? What qualities would you like to adopt from them?
Sir, yes, I believe our friend circle does influence our thinking and decision-making. My group consists of
individuals with diverse qualities, which helps me stay balanced and learn different perspectives. They
are fun-loving, supportive, and always ready to try new things, which has helped me become more
social and [Link] of my friends has qualities that I admire. For example, Jayant is
hardworking and a confident communicator, which inspires me to express myself better. Shiva manages
his personal matters well and maintains good balance, which I find very practical. Mehul is highly social
and connects easily with people, and Suraj is very determined and does not give up easily. Being around
such a group motivates me to learn from them and continuously improve myself both personally and
socially.
10 Who is your closest friend and why?
Sir, my closest friend is Jayant. I consider him my closest friend because he is very supportive,
trustworthy, and someone I can rely on in any situation. We share a good understanding, and I feel
comfortable discussing both personal and important matters with him. I also admire his hardworking
nature and the way he communicates confidently, which motivates me to improve myself. Overall, our
mutual trust, understanding, and positive influence on each other make him my closest friend.
11 How do you spend time with your family?
Spending time with my family is something I truly value, and I feel fortunate to have such a supportive
and cheerful family. With my father, I usually spend time doing some work together — that’s when we
talk, share experiences, and enjoy simple moments. With my mother, I share a very friendly bond; we
often tease each other, sometimes I cook for her, and we talk about my childhood and family memories.
With my brothers, our time mostly goes into watching movies, teasing each other, or going out for a
walk or a drive. These small moments keep us connected and make our bond stronger.
12. What did you learn from your college experience?
My college life has been one of the most transformative phases of my life, as it significantly shaped my
personality and the way I approach situations. During this time, I developed qualities like time
management, teamwork, and became more responsible in handling my tasks and activities. For
instance, while organizing college events, I coordinated with different people and managed tasks
within deadlines, which improved my planning and teamwork skills.
One important lesson I learned was to say ‘no’ when required, which helped me stay focused and
clear about my priorities. Over time, my confidence improved noticeably. I became more expressive,
enhanced my communication skills, and learned to interact comfortably with people from diverse
backgrounds. I also became more at ease interacting with girls, which further improved my overall
social confidence and understanding of different perspectives. This exposure made me more
adaptable and open-minded in my approach.
College life also made me more independent—I learned to manage my finances, became more aware
of my surroundings, and worked on my overall personality. I also improved my presentation and
fashion sense, which helped me carry myself more confidently in both social and formal settings.
Overall, my college experience has helped me grow into a confident, adaptable, and balanced
individual, who is better prepared to take on challenges and work effectively in a team-oriented
environment.
13. You said you learned to handle tough situations in college. Tell me about one specific situation
where things were going wrong, and you took the initiative to set them right. What exactly did you do,
how did people react, and what was the outcome?
During my college days, I was part of the management team for the 22nd National Athletics
Championship for the Blind at Thyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi. At one point, a situation arose where
several athletes were unable to reach their respective event locations on time, as many of them were
visually impaired and not all were accompanied.
I briefly tried to contact my team leader, but due to the urgency of the situation, I took the initiative. I
quickly coordinated with three of my friends, and we divided ourselves into two groups—one group
collected details of the missing athletes, while the other actively searched for them by calling out their
names and event categories.
At the same time, some athletes were scheduled for multiple events simultaneously. I coordinated
with the judges and ensured that such participants were allowed to compete early in one event so
that they could smoothly move on to their other events.
Through this coordinated effort, all athletes were able to reach their events on time, and the schedule
was brought back on track. This experience reinforced my ability to take timely decisions, organize
resources effectively, and handle situations calmly under pressure.
14 Describe another incident in which you showed similar qualities ?
Yes Sir, another instance was during a college fest where NCC was part of the management committee,
and I was involved in handling the arrangements. During the event, there was a sudden rush at the
registration desk, and the volunteers got a bit overwhelmed, which led to a long queue.
I stepped in and tried to organize things better—I assigned one person for verification, one for entry,
and one for guiding the participants, and also made sure instructions were clear so that people didn’t
get confused. Gradually, the process became smoother and the queue started reducing.
At the same time, near the stage, some students were trying to move ahead of the barricading, which
could have created a disturbance. I coordinated with my team and ensured that only authorized
people stayed near the stage. Initially, there was a bit of resistance, but I spoke to them calmly and
explained the need for maintaining order, and the situation settled down.
Overall, the event continued smoothly after that. This experience taught me the importance of staying
calm, organizing people quickly, and communicating clearly in such situations.
14. Describe your family values and traditions.
My family values are centered on being good, responsible individuals whom others can respect and
trust. We strongly believe in helping others, respecting our elders, and fulfilling our duties. These
principles have shaped me into a more responsible, empathetic, and accountable person, and I try to
follow them in my daily life and interactions with others.
[Link] does your family support you in your goals?
My family has been quite supportive of my goals. They give me the freedom to take my own decisions,
but at the same time they guide me whenever they feel it’s needed. Generally, they trust my choices,
and if there’s ever a difference in opinion, we discuss it and I get to see things from their perspective
as well.
They support me not just financially, but also emotionally—especially during challenging phases, they
motivate me and keep me focused. Overall, their support gives me a sense of confidence and stability,
which helps me stay committed to my goals.”
14 . How do you contribute to your family’s well-being? Do you have any family responsibilities?
I try to contribute to my family in whatever way I can. My responsibilities aren’t fixed—I usually step
in wherever I’m needed, especially when my parents are busy. When a situation comes up, I first try to
handle it on my own, and if I’m not able to, I take guidance from my father or brother.
In terms of day-to-day things, I handle bank-related work and other outside errands, and I also take
care of small issues at home like basic electrical or plumbing work. Apart from that, I help with routine
tasks like cooking or cleaning whenever required.
Overall, I just try to share responsibilities so that things run smoothly at home.
15. What’s your daily routine at home?
I usually wake up around 5 or 5:30 in the morning. After freshening up, I go for a run, return home for
breakfast, and then head to the library around 8. I usually come back home around 12 or 1, take a bath,
and have lunch. After a short rest of 30 minutes to an hour, I go back to the library in the afternoon until
about 5:30. Then I do my workout, take a protein shake, and rest until dinner. After dinner, I usually go
for a walk on the roof — sometimes talking to friends or using ChatGPT — and then study for 1–2 hours
before going to sleep. This routine helps me stay disciplined, physically fit, and focused on my studies.
16. What do you like/dislike about your friends?
“I really value my friends because they are fun-loving, adventurous, and always ready to help. Their
positive attitude keeps the group energetic and motivates each of us to improve. I particularly admire
qualities like their hard work and helpful nature, and I try to learn from them.
Like any group, they do have some minor shortcomings—at times they can be a bit late or
disorganized, and occasionally they tend to prioritize fun over work or get distracted during serious
tasks. However, we usually manage this by reminding each other of our responsibilities and
supporting one another so that work doesn’t get affected.
Overall, my friends have a very positive influence on me. They have helped me become more socially
confident, improved my teamwork, and made me a more balanced and responsible individual.”
17 What would you do if you fail in this attempt?
I’m confident about my preparation and I’m giving my best in this attempt. But if I don’t make it, I’ll
take it as feedback rather than failure. I’ll honestly analyze where I fell short—whether it’s
communication, performance in tasks, or overall approach—and then work on those areas in a more
focused way.
At the same time, I’ll continue with my regular career plan so that I’m progressing on both fronts. I
would definitely come back better prepared in the next attempt.
18. How do you handle stress or pressure?
When I face stress or pressure, I first try to stay calm instead of reacting immediately, because that helps
me think more clearly. Then I quickly understand what exactly needs to be done and break it into smaller
steps so it feels more manageable. I focus on one thing at a time and keep moving forward. This
approach helps me stay composed and avoid making rushed decisions.
19. How do you react when criticized?
When I’m criticized, I first listen carefully to understand what the person is actually saying. If it’s valid, I
accept it and try to improve. If I feel it’s based on some misunderstanding, I calmly explain my side so
that things are clear. I see criticism as useful feedback, as it helps me improve.
20. Why do you want to join the Indian army?
Sir, my motivation to join the Indian Army has developed gradually over time. Since childhood, I have
seen my father in uniform, and the discipline, dedication, and respect he earned left a lasting impression
on me. That was my first source of inspiration. Initially, I aimed to pursue engineering, but while
preparing for it, I realized it wasn’t something I genuinely connected with. Around the same time, I saw
my brother preparing for the NDA, and when I explored it further, I felt naturally drawn towards it—the
sense of purpose, challenge, and the kind of life it offers. Later, during my time in NCC in college, I got a
closer and more practical exposure to this environment. I experienced the discipline, structured way of
functioning, and most importantly, the strong sense of brotherhood. That exposure further
strengthened and confirmed my decision.
I believe my personality aligns well with this profession—I enjoy challenges, prefer a dynamic and f ield-
oriented life, and I am motivated to continuously push my limits. More than anything, I see this as an
opportunity to serve the nation with pride and be part of an organization that stands for something
larger than oneself
