Interviewee: hello

Interview: how are you doing today?


Interviewee: I’am good, how about you?

Interviewee: I am doing well too, I just want to thankyou for agreeing to be part of this
interview
Interviewee: No problem

Interviewer: so, I ‘m conducting this interview as a part of a practical study on young adults’
perceptions of AI usage in academics, interpersonal,and leisure [Link] will be a casual
conversation, and your responses will be kept confidential. Is that okay with you ?
Interviewee: yes, that’s completely fine.

Interviewer: First, I’ll just ask some basic details.


Interviewee: okay okay

Interviewer: what’s your name?


Interviewee: my name is Navya Mahipal.

Interviewer: And your age?


Interviewee: I’m 20.

Interviewer: Your gender?


Interviewee: Female.
Interviewer: Which course are you pursuing?
Interviewee: BMMMC.

Interviewer: Your college or university?


Interviewee: IPCW, Delhi University.

Interviewer: Which year are you in?


Interviewee: 3rd year.

Interviewer: Where do you currently live?


Interviewee: Umm… C-223A,Hari nagar ,new delhi

Interviewer: how many friends do you have?


Interviewee: Umm… around 50 Approx.

Interviewer: And how many people do you interact with daily?


Interviewee: (laughs) Umm… so many, I can’t really count. inter

Interviewer: still any guesses?


Interviewee: ahh….okay I think 10 -15 I guess so

Interviewer: okay. And your relationship status?


Interviewee: Single.

Interviewer: alright, so moving ahead I,m going to ask you a few questions about AI
Interviewee: ahh…. okay

Interviewer: what do you understand about AI?


Interviewee: Umm… AI is technology that allows machines to think and perform tasks like
humans.
Interviewer: how would you define AI usage in your daily life?
Interviewee: Umm… using AI tools for studying, writing, and getting information.

Interviewer: Which platforms do you use?


Interviewee: ChatGPT, umm… Gemini, and Grammarly.

Interviewer: And what’s your main purpose for using them?


Interviewee: Mostly for study help, writing, and research.

Interviewer: Okay. How do you think AI is shaping your academic life?


Interviewee: Umm… it makes studying easier and faster.

Interviewer: How much time do you spend on AI daily?


Interviewee: Around 1–2 hours.

Interviewer: And for what purposes?


Interviewee: Umm… notes, assignments, and clearing doubts.

Interviewer: How comfortable do you feel using AI for academics


Interviewee: Umm… I feel quite comfortable, like… high comfort.

Interviewer: What role does AI play in your social life?


Interviewee: Umm… it helps in advice, conversations, and entertainment.

Interviewer: what kind of conversation do you usually have with AI?


Interviewee: umm… mostly like casual conversation ,like random questions about my studies
and also clearing small doubts.

Interviewer: And how comfortable are you with that?


Interviewee: Umm… moderate, I would say.

Interviewer: What do you mainly use it for socially?


Interviewee: Umm… advice, chats, and content.

Interviewer: what type of advice do you usually seek from AI?


Interviewee: umm… mostly study-related advice

Interviewer: is it more for understanding concepts or completing assignments?


Interviewee: umm…both actually, but I think more for understanding concepts because it
explains things in a simple way .

Interviewer: Do you think there should be boundaries between AI and real relationships?
Interviewee: Yes, definitely. Umm… it shouldn’t replace real relationships.

Interviewer: Do you do any fun activities using AI?


Interviewee: (smiles) Yes, umm… like art creation, games, stories, and music suggestions.

Interviewer: How often do you use AI for fun?


Interviewee: ahh…. like once or twice in a month

Interviewer: How do you see AI shaping your future?


Interviewee: Umm… I think it will make life easier with smarter learning and daily
assistance.

Interviewer: in what ways does it make studying easier?


Interviewee: it saves time and like quick explanations ,so I don’t have to search everywhere.

Interviewer: And lastly, what risks do you think are associated with AI?
Interviewee: Umm… overdependence, less thinking, privacy issues, and less human
interaction.
