• Overall objective:
• to provide fundamentals of international economics, and methodology of assessing
international economic related issues.
• After completing this course, students are expected to grasp of the
following issues:
• Basis and gains of trade, pattern of trade between nations, the nature and impact of
international trade policy instruments
• Forms of, motives for and welfare effect of the international movement of resources
• Concept and structure of balance of payment, characteristics and function of the
foreign exchange market, exchange rate determinants, and different international
monetary systems.
