Assignment

The document provides an overview of outliers, including their definition and detection methods using statistical tests and z-scores. It outlines the steps for creating various data visualizations such as pie diagrams, bar charts, stacked bar graphs, histograms, and ogives. Each visualization method includes specific variables and data input instructions for effective representation of data.

Statistics
Outliers:
An outlier is an observation that lies an abnormal distance from other
values in a random sample from a population.

Detection of outliers:
Outlier detection involves applying statistical test or procedures to
identify extreme values. They can convert extreme data points into z
scores that tell you how many standard deviations away they are from
mean.

Steps of pie diagram and Bar chart:

1. We need to name the variable – Item and Expenditure.
2. We need to click values and value 1,2,3,4 and 5 and name them
food, clothing, rent, medical care and other items.
3. We need to input the data.
4. We need to go to graphs click on pie and bar.
5. We need to click on variable of separate variables and variable of
individual cases.
Steps of stacked bar graph:
1. We need to name the variable-year, profit and expenses.
2. We need to input the data.
3. We need to go to graph and select stacked bar graph.
4. We need to click on variable of individual cases.

Steps of Histogram:
1. We need to name the variable-Upper, Lower and Men.
2. We need to input the data.
3. We need to go to compute variable and find the variable age
by adding upper and lower then divide them by 2.
4. We need to put men in weight cases.
5. We need to click on histogram and put age in variable and
men in columns.

Steps of ogive:
1. We need to name the variable-Upper, Lower and F.
2. We need to input the data.
3. We need to go to compute variable and add upper and lower
them divide them by 2.
4. We need to go to graph click on bar.
5. We need to click on simple bar chart and click on variable of
individual cases.
