Migrant-Link UK: A web-based biometric compliance and socio-cultural
Project Topic: integration dashboard for the UK’s digital immigration system
Brief description about your project:
The Migrant-Link UK project is a web portal to help international citizens in the UK manage their
immigration in the UK's 100% digital 2026 world. The site operates as a compliance management
dashboard that goes beyond passive data storage to offer an active logic engine for eVisas,
National Insurance (NI) information and biometric verifying.
Its web portal enables secure access to users' 'Right to Work' and 'Right to Rent' information
through an automated Share Code tracker to track legal status and expiration dates. The system
offers a geospatial resource locator to address the social issues of migration through mapping
country-specific business and cultural centers. The project offers a technical response to the
compliance and social challenges of 'Digital Exclusion' in the UK's shift to digital immigration by
consolidating legal compliance and home-country social resources into a web portal.

Uniqueness of the project:
What makes Migrant-Link UK unique is its life-cycle approach to migration, as opposed to the
transactional nature of the government's current systems. Unlike the existing official platforms like
the UK immigration - ID check app, that are focused on temporary visa applications, Migrant-Link
is designed for permanent residency.
Key unique differentiators -
1. Legal compliance and social utility - It’s the first platform to combine high-stakes compliance
(biometric status, National Insurance and Share Code) with socio-cultural integration (geospatial
databases of home-country services). It offers a one stop legal and social platform for migrants.
2. Active Compliance Engine - The Migrant-Link platform is not just a passive view and prove
application like the government's, which only offers a search facility. It calculates, issues
reminders for future renewal applications and tracks the 30-day expiry of "Right to Work" Share
Codes to avoid unintentional legal non-compliance.
3. It’s a solution to the digital exclusion problem - By storing e-Visa-related meta-data and
biometric identity tokens in an easy-to-access, web-based interface, this project provides a solution
to the digital transition crisis of 2026 in the UK, in which migrants are unable to prove their
immigration status during government office shutdowns.
4. Hyper-local personalization - The system integrates geospatial API to provide a hyper-
personalized service for each home country, turning a legal tool into a community engagement
platform.
Your Contribution to achieve the uniqueness:
In order to offer a distinctive and high-quality experience, my contribution will be to establish a
tight integration between front-end experience and back-end logic -
1. Programming a rules-based compliance engine - I will write JavaScript/Python rules-based logic
that develops an automated compliance monitor. My role will be in programming the backend to
calculate key legal deadlines, such as the 30-day expiry of UKVI Share Codes and visa renewals.
This will turn the website into a live legal advisor which notifies the user of events.
2. APIs for hyper-local mapping - I will integrate the Google Maps API and UK postcode API in
JavaScript. I will code the unique filtering logic that reads the user’s home country meta-data and
matches it with local businesses. The app can thus identify and display the unique home-country
specific specialty stores and community centers that are relevant to the geographical location of the
user in the UK.
3. Biometric identity module - With JavaScript (Webcam API) or Python (OpenCV), I will provide
a mock biometric security system. I will implement a facial recognition screen to be passed before
accessing sensitive data such as National Insurance numbers or legal documents. This showcases

my management of sensitive, critical identity data in a web setting.
4. Build an interactive management dashboard - Using my expertise in HTML5, CSS3 and
JavaScript, I will develop a professional web interface. I will develop a bespoke "Compliance
Traffic Light" system, a type of dashboard that offers visual confirmation of status (Valid,
Expiring, or Action Required). This is unique to the project, and offers an intuitive solution to
digital anxiety in the 2026 eVisa system.
