12. . An installer is choosing between using a flush-type and a surface-type

switch for a wooden wall. Given aesthetic and safety considerations, what would
be the most appropriate choice and why?
a. Surface-type, because it is easier to install.
b. Flush-type, because it provides better protection and cleaner appearance.
c. Either type, as long as it is properly labeled.
d. Surface-type, because it allows for easier troubleshooting.

13. After completing the installation of wiring devices in a residential unit, an

inspector notes that outlets in the kitchen are not GFCI-protected. What does this
indicate in terms of job conformity?
a. The installation is acceptable since GFCIs are optional.
b. There is a minor deviation, but it does not affect safety.
c. The installation fails to meet PEC and job safety requirements.
d. GFCIs are not required in residential kitchens.

14. A technician is verifying the location of switches in a commercial building.

The job requirement specifies accessibility for persons with disabilities. One
switch is installed at 1.6 meters above the floor. What should the technician
conclude?
a. The switch location is acceptable as long as it functions.
b. The height exceeds the standard for accessibility compliance.
c. Switches do not have specific height requirements.
