Reading Strategies

A. Reading Writing Fill in the Blanks (Drop Down Fill in the Blanks)
You will see a text on your screen which has a few blanks in it. Each blank will
have a drop down with-it containing option. You must select the correct
option form the blank.

Scoring Contributes to Reading Score
Negative Marking No
Time to Answer No time limit per question. Be aware of the overall
section time limit.

Strategies:
1. Don’t waste time on one blank
2. Ask common sense questions
3. Check for grammar
4. Make Your Best guess
5. 2 Options are always irrelevant in drop down and 2 options are always
confusing, choose wisely
6. Don’t spend more than 2.5 Minutes on each passage
B. Multiple Choice, Choose Multiple Answers
You will see a text on screen and answer a question based on that text. You
will be given some options out of which more than one is correct.
Number of Questions 1-2
Scoring Contributes to Reading Score
Negative Marking Yes
Time to Answer No time limit on per question basis. Be aware of the
time limit for the overall reading section.

Strategies:
1. Never read the text in the beginning (read question/option first)
2. Find and validate
3. Don’t confuse almost with the whole
4. Don’t base a decision on your personal judgement
5. Keep an eye on the timer
6. Skim and Scan, match the keywords and then read the whole sentence
7. Don’t spend more than 40 Seconds on each MCQ
8. Always Mark 1 Option in this question
C. Reorder Paragraphs
You will see paragraphs or sentences from a text arranged in a wrong order.
You have to drag the paragraphs and drop them into correct positions.

Strategies:
1. Look for the independent sentence (Opening sentences, Historical Facts,
Chronological order, Nouns)
2. Look for noun-pronoun relationships
3. Look for connecting words
4. Look for Logical relationships
5. Try different options
6. Start noticing paragraph connections
7. Follow the pair making strategy
8. Practice HARD
9. Don’t spend more time than 2.5 Minutes on each re-order
D. Reading Fill in the Blanks (Drag and Drop)
You will see a text which will have certain blanks in it. Below the text you will
see a pool of words, which are the potential answers. You will have to drag
the right options from the pool and drop them in the appropriate blanks.

1. Fill in the easy ones first
2. Try to pick missing grammar pieces
3. Go with simple logic, and evaluate options one by one
4. Get to know collections

E. Multiple Choice, Choose Single Answer
You will see a text on screen and answer a question based on that text. You
will be given some options out of which only one is the correct option.
