-Active learning is an environment where students are actively engaged in the learning
process, both physically and mentally. It is more about student participation, application,
and analysis of new concepts rather than passive listening or observing.
In active learning environments, most of the times students are provided with opportunities
to participate in a variety of activities that cater to their diverse learning styles and needs.
Significant benefits of active learning.
1) Active learning helps students to become 'lifelong learners' by providing them with
opportunities to fully engage and have control over the learning process, which can foster a
more personalized learning experience.
2) Active learning encourages success by giving students a sense of accomplishment as
they actively participate and succeed in various learning activities. This boosts their
confidence and motivation to continue learning and exploring new concepts.
3) Active learning is engaging and intellectually exciting. Many active learning strategies
involve group work and collaborative activities. Through these interactions, students
develop teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, which are essential in real-
world settings. And of course have a lot of fun at the same time.
