MATH FORMULAS & KEY POINTS (Christ BCom Prep)

Percentages: Percentage = (Value/Total)*100. Always convert % to fraction for speed.

Profit & Loss: Profit = SP-CP. Loss = CP-SP. SP = CP*(100±%)/100.

Ratio: a:b = a/b. Use cross multiplication.

Averages: Average = Total/Number. Total = Average*Number.

SI: SI = (P*R*T)/100.

CI: A = P(1+R/100)^T.

Time & Work: Work = Rate*Time. Convert to 1-day work.

Speed: Speed = Distance/Time.

Boats: Downstream = B+S, Upstream = B-S.

AP: an = a+(n-1)d, Sn = n/2(2a+(n-1)d).

Important Tips:

1. Always simplify early.

2. Use options to back solve.

3. Learn tables, squares, cubes.

4. Don’t waste time on one question.
