HISTORY OF COMPUTER AND ITS LATEST DEVELOPMENT

The history of computers began with early mechanical calculators like the abacus, evolving
through Charles Babbage's 19th-century Analytical Engine concept. The 20th century saw the
development of electronic computers, starting with the ENIAC in 1945, which used vacuum
tubes. The invention of the transistor in 1947 and integrated circuits in the 1960s led to smaller,
more powerful computers. The personal computer revolution began in the 1970s with the Apple
II and IBM PC. The internet's rise in the 1990s transformed computing, leading to the
development of mobile and cloud technologies.

In recent years, advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and 5G

networks have driven the latest developments. AI is revolutionizing industries with machine
learning and deep learning techniques. Quantum computers promise unprecedented processing
power for complex problems. The deployment of 5G enhances connectivity and supports the
growth of the Internet of Things (IoT), enabling smarter and more interconnected devices.

COMPUTER COMPONENTS AND PERIPHERAL

Acclimatization with computer components and peripherals involves understanding and

becoming familiar with the various parts that make up a computer system and how they interact.

### Core Components:

1. **CPU (Central Processing Unit):** The brain of the computer, responsible for executing
instructions.
2. **Motherboard:** The main circuit board that houses the CPU, memory, and other essential
components.
3. **RAM (Random Access Memory):** Temporary storage that provides quick access to data
for active processes.
4. **Storage (HDD/SSD):** Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) or Solid State Drives (SSDs) store data
permanently. SSDs are faster and more reliable.
5. **Power Supply Unit (PSU):** Converts electrical power from an outlet into usable power for
the computer components.
6. **GPU (Graphics Processing Unit):** Handles rendering of images, video, and animations.
Essential for gaming and graphic design.

### Peripherals:
1. **Monitor:** Displays visual output from the computer.
2. **Keyboard:** Allows input of text and commands.
3. **Mouse:** A pointing device for navigating the user interface.
4. **Printer:** Produces physical copies of digital documents.
5. **External Storage:** USB drives, external HDDs, and SSDs provide additional storage and
data transfer options.
6. **Speakers/Headphones:** Output audio from the computer.
7. **Webcam:** Captures video, often used for video conferencing.

### Connectivity:
1. **Network Card:** Connects the computer to a network, either wired (Ethernet) or wireless
(Wi-Fi).
2. **USB Ports:** Interface for connecting peripherals and external devices.
3. **HDMI/DisplayPort:** Interfaces for connecting monitors and other display.
