PHYSICS PROJECT GUIDELINES
Title: Miniature Structure with Electrical Lighting using Series and Parallel Connections
I. Project Objective
To design and construct a miniature building or structure (e.g., house, park, tower, bridge,
etc.) that uses electrical lights connected in series and parallel, demonstrating practical
applications of electrical circuits in real-life situations.
II. General Guidelines
Design & Construction
-Use recyclable or safe materials for the miniature structure (e.g., cardboard, wood, plastic, etc.).
-The structure must include at least one series circuit and one parallel circuit.
-Use low-voltage bulbs/LEDs (3V or 5V) to ensure safety. -Power source may be batteries
(AA/AAA/9V) or USB-powered units.
-Wires must be neatly arranged and labeled (optional use of color codes).
-Switches should be installed to control the circuits independently.
-The final model must be safe, stable, and presentable.
Circuit Requirements
-Series Circuit: Minimum of 4 bulbs/LED; observe brightness, current flow, and effects of
removing a bulb.
-Parallel Circuit: Minimum of 3 branches; each branch must contain at least 2 bulb/LED.
-Demonstrate a combined series-parallel circuit.
-Proper insulation of wires is mandatory to prevent short circuits.
Note: Used both LED &, BULB
Functionality Check
-All circuits must be functional at the time of demonstration.
-Demonstrate what happens when one bulb is removed or turned off in both types of circuits.
