Write a story in which a broken compass is important.

The Broken Compass

The wind howled as if it knew something was wrong. Arif, a determined and curious boy, tightened his grip on the rusted
compass in his hand. He had set out to find his missing brother, but the compass needle refused to point north.

“Don’t worry, this compass will always guide you,” Rahat had once said, placing it in Arif’s hand. “But what if it stops
working?” Arif had asked nervously. “Then trust yourself more than the compass,” Rahat replied with a smile. Now,
standing alone in the forest, Arif whispered, “I hope you’re right, bhai.” As he checked the compass and saw the needle
spinning wildly, fear crept in, but he forced himself to move forward.

Night fell heavily, swallowing the forest in darkness so thick that Arif could barely see his own hands. The trees loomed
like shadows, and every sound—the crack of a twig, the rustle of leaves—felt like a warning. When he reached a clearing
with three narrow paths stretching into the unknown, his heart pounded louder than the wind. He pulled out the
compass again, desperate for guidance, but the needle spun violently, refusing to settle. “This can’t be happening,” he
muttered, his voice trembling. For a moment, fear took over. He imagined himself wandering endlessly, never finding
Rahat, never finding his way back home. The compass, once a symbol of certainty, now felt like a cruel joke. Then, just as
panic threatened to consume him, something caught his eye—a small strip of cloth tied loosely to a low branch. Arif
rushed forward and touched it. It was torn from Rahat’s shirt. His breath quickened. Rahat had been here. Suddenly, Arif
noticed more signs: faint footprints pressed into the damp soil, broken twigs, and disturbed leaves. The realization
struck him with force—the compass was broken, but Rahat had left a trail. The spinning needle wasn’t his enemy; it was
forcing him to rely on his own observation and courage. Wiping away his fear, Arif stood up straighter. “I’ll find you,
bhai,” he said firmly. Ignoring the useless compass, he chose the path marked by the clearest signs and stepped forward
into the darkness with renewed determination.

The journey grew harder with every step. The path was uneven, and the forest seemed to close in around him. Arif
stumbled over roots and pushed through thick bushes, his legs aching and his throat dry. Still, he followed every sign
carefully, afraid that missing even one could lead him astray. Hours seemed to pass, and doubt slowly crept back into his
mind. “Rahat!” he called out, his voice echoing weakly through the trees. There was no answer at first, only silence. Just
as he began to fear the worst, a faint sound reached his ears—a soft, broken reply. “Arif…?” His heart leapt. “Bhai!
Where are you?” he shouted, running toward the direction of the voice. Pushing aside branches, he finally found Rahat
lying on the ground, pinned beneath a heavy fallen branch. His face was pale, and he looked exhausted, but he was
alive. “I knew… you’d come,” Rahat said weakly, managing a small smile. Arif’s eyes filled with tears. “I’m here. Don’t
worry, I’ll get you out.” Summoning all his strength, he struggled to lift the branch. It was heavy, but desperation gave
him power. With a final effort, he managed to free Rahat. They sat there for a moment, catching their breath. Then,
supporting each other, they slowly began the journey back. Without the compass, Arif relied on memory, the position of
the stars, and the path he had carefully observed. Step by step, they made their way out of the forest, stronger together
than they had ever been apart.

Arif later kept the broken compass as a reminder that sometimes, when guidance fails, courage and trust in oneself
become the true direction.
Write a story which includes the sentence: "Her voice was so steady, he almost believed she wasn't terrified of what
they were about to do."

The Edge of the Bridge

The river roared beneath them, dark and endless in the fading light. Nabil, a hesitant yet loyal boy, stood frozen at the
edge of the old wooden bridge. He had promised to help rescue his sister from a locked facility across the river.

“We don’t have much time,” Laila said, gripping a flashlight tightly. “What if the bridge collapses?” Nabil asked, staring at
the broken planks. “We’ll go slowly,” she replied, though her hands trembled slightly. Step by step, they began crossing,
the bridge creaking under their weight. A loud crack echoed, and Nabil whispered, “We shouldn’t be here.”

Halfway across, the wind grew stronger, making the bridge sway dangerously. Nabil’s heart pounded as he looked down
at the rushing river below. “I can’t do this,” he said, his voice shaking. Her voice was so steady, he almost believed she
wasn't terrified of what they were about to do. “Just keep moving,” Laila said, holding the rope tightly. But her pale face
and quick breaths revealed the fear she tried to hide. Suddenly, a wooden plank snapped beneath Nabil’s foot, and he
slipped, barely catching the rope. “I’m going to fall!” he cried, panic rising in his chest. “You won’t!” Laila shouted,
grabbing his arm and pulling him up with all her strength. The bridge creaked loudly, as if it might collapse any second.
For a moment, everything felt uncertain—their balance, their safety, even their chances of [Link] shut his eyes,
forcing himself to breathe. He realized that turning back was no longer an option. Gathering courage, he nodded.
“Okay… let’s go.” Together, they took slow, careful steps, fighting the wind and fear until they finally reached the other
side.

Breathing heavily, they rushed toward the locked gate of the silent facility. Using a small toolkit, Laila managed to break
the lock, and they slipped inside. The building was dim and eerily quiet, with flickering lights guiding their way. “Nabil?”
a weak voice called from one of the rooms. He froze. “Apa?” Rushing inside, he found his sister sitting against the wall,
exhausted but alive. Relief flooded through him. “We came for you,” he said, helping her stand. With Laila supporting
her on one side, they carefully made their way back to the bridge. Though it still creaked and swayed, Nabil no longer
hesitated. This time, he moved with determination, guiding his sister safely across. At last, they stepped onto solid
ground, leaving the terrifying bridge behind.

Nabil realized that courage is not the absence of fear, but the strength to move forward despite it.
