DISC • Help the users build
and maximize
productive
relationships.

strengths and blind spot.
•Understand the reasons
behind others’ behaviour.
•Exhibit personal
accountability for their
behaviour.
What is DISC
• DiSC is a personal assessment tool used by
more than one million people every year
to help improve teamwork,
communication, and productivity in the
workplace.
• The acronym DiSC stands for
dominance, influence, steadiness, and
conscientiousness, the four basic
personality types discussed in the DiSC
paradigm.
• Organizations and teams use DiSC to:
• Improve teamwork
• Build culture
• Develop leaders
• Increase employee engagement
Di / iD Style - Dominance /
Influence
• These individuals on the map define
themselves as daring and adventurous.
Compared to the general population,
they are more likely to self-identify as
entrepreneurial or enterprising. Both
Styles exhibit an action-oriented
behavior. A person with an iD style
will, nevertheless, tend to priorities
relationships over tasks. Someone
with the Di style will priorities a task
over a connection.
iS / Si Style - Influence / Steadiness
•One common adjective used to
characterise people with these
personality characteristics is "gentle."
'Cheerful' is another option. These
personalities tend to be trustworthy and
optimistic about other people. Both
approaches have a relationship-centric
orientation. People will come first for
them. A person with the iS Style,
however, will move more quickly or
take more chances in their actions. A Si
style personality will move more
slowly and be more risk-averse.
SC / CS Style - Conscientiousness /
Steadiness
• The least action-oriented personalities
are those with the SC or CS style, who
are more likely to consider their
alternatives before acting. They regard
their decision-making as cautious and
their pace as calm and methodical. They
exhibit less outward vitality than the
typical person. Both kinds exhibit
cautious behavior and a fear of taking
chances. A person with the SC style,
however, will prioritize relationships
with others over work. The CS
personality type will prioritize tasks
over relationships.
CD / DC Style - Conscientiousness /
Dominance
• This type of person is more pessimistic than the
ordinary individual, but not to the point of being overly
withdrawn or violent. A person with these styles is
typically described as challenging. Both kinds exhibit
the same task-oriented behaviour. They will be
intensely focused on finding a solution when an issue
develops. However, when attempting to solve a
dilemma or finish a task, a person with the CD Style
will proceed with greater caution. When tackling a task
or a problem, a person with the DC Style will be more
energetic and risk-taking.
