A very good morning to one and all pleasant here.

I am Sabhyata Sharma from Grade X,


studying in National Public School, Yelahanka. Today, my team and I are here to present our
product. But before we begin, I have a very simple question for all of you. How many meals
do you all have every day? And by meals, I also mean those early morning cups of tea and
coffee, and the late-night snacks. Well, I myself used to have food at least 5-6 times every
day, and I guess that’s the case for all of us.
Have we ever wondered what about the people without a single plate of food outside? The
ones who cannot afford food, and sleep with a hungry stomach? But when we don’t get our
food on time, or maybe just 5-10 minutes later, we all get grumpy and scream at our
mothers, don’t we? Food insecurity is one of the world’s largest and most significant
problem. And to solve, we present to you, Anna Kosh – a new generation VENDING
MACHINE for grains to help eradicate starvation in the world.
The number 2 seems slightly insignificant when its alone, but when we add 8 zeroes in front
of it, well that’s the number of people who sleep hungry in India every single day. 20 CRORE
PEOPLE!
And this problem is not at all knew, it emerged in India since the 1940s, after the Great
Bengal Famine. And thus, the govt. too came up with solutions to solve this – The PDS or the
Ration Shop system, where all the people who are the “poorest of all” can go and buy grains
at a low cost. However, this solution too has a problem.
There is so much corruption and hoarding of grains in these ration shops, that people are
still unable to have food. They are denied one of the most important rights that is food.
Hence, here we have a smart machine for a smart city – ANNA KOSH
What does our name “Anna Kosh” mean – Well in Kannada, anna is rice and in Hindi it
means grains. Kosh is a Hindi word which means “bank”. Thus, it is somewhat like a grain
bank for people.
Over to my team-mate Suhaani, who will be taking you through the features of our product.

FAQ:
Talking about the future improvements we can make for our product –
1. For restoring grains, we could have a something can lifts the grains on top

2. We could have more storage compartment in our machine for more materials
such as kerosene oil and other basic requirements.
3. We could have teams set up in every state for designing our products instead of
only working with internship students. This will help increase the employment
too.
4. Increasing capacity.
