 Introduction
The Recertification Program supports the professional development and continuing education of BCSP
certificants. The recertification cycle occurs every five (5) years, which is based on the rate at which practice
changes. BCSP has determined that five (5) years is a reasonable period to measure the activities in which
a certificant is able to remain up-to-date with current trends in practice. This Recertification Guide covers
recertification for the Certified Safety Professional® (CSP®), Safety Management Specialist® (SMS®), Associate Safety
Professional® (ASP®), Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician® (OHST®), Construction Health and Safety
Technician® (CHST®), Safety Trained Supervisor® (STS®), Safety Trained Supervisor Construction® (STSC®), and
Certified Instructional Trainer® (CIT®).

The recertification cycle was recently adjusted to run five (5) years, from July 1 through June 30. Recertification
worksheets may be submitted beginning December 31 through the July 31 due date.

activities, go to [Link], select My Profile to log into your account, and select “Recertification.”

1 When is my recertification worksheet due?
Recertification worksheets must be submitted online or received by BCSP no later

units of certain other organizations, and for volunteer professional services that are approved by
