Realistic fiction tells a story that could happen in real life.

The characters behave like real


people, the settings are believable, and the problems feel genuine. Good realistic stories
make readers feel connected to the characters and their emotions.

Your first sentence should grab the reader's attention immediately. Avoid weak
openings such as "One day..." or "There was a boy...".
Instead,try starting with action, dialogue, description, or a thought.

Action openings

3. Show the Character's Thoughts
Including thoughts helps readers understand what the character is feeling.
Use phrases such as:
