GENERAL SPECIFICATION

These provisions establish the overarching standards, regulatory compliance, and quality
requirements for the project:

1. WORKMANSHIP AND TECHNICAL ACCURACY

and the right of reuse.
• Maintenance of Logs: The contractor must maintain log books, complaint registers,
and worker diaries, which shall be checked regularly by the Site-In-Charge.
• As-Built Drawings: The contractor is responsible for preparing Record Drawings
depicting the completed project based on all addenda, change orders, and field
clarifications made during construction.
DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS

❖ EARTHWORK:

o Excavation: Mechanical or manual excavation in foundation trenches or drains


(not exceeding 1.5m in width or 10 sqm on plan), including dressing of sides
and ramming of bottoms.
o Disposal: Getting out the excavated soil and disposal of surplus soil within a
lead of 50m and lift up to 1.5m.

❖ CONCRETE WORK (PCC & RCC):

o Base Concrete: Providing and laying cement concrete of grade 1:4:8 (1 cement
: 4 coarse sand : 8 graded stone aggregate 40mm nominal size) for the base and
up to plinth level.
o Reinforced Concrete: Specified grade RCC (e.g., 1:1.5:3) for foundations,
footings, and bases of columns.
o Formwork: Provision of centering and shuttering, including strutting and
propping, for all mass concrete and RCC works.

❖ MASONRY AND REINFORCEMENT:

o Brickwork: Use of common burnt clay F.P.S. (non-modular) bricks of class


designation 7.5 in cement mortar 1:4 for foundations and the plinth.
o Steel Reinforcement: Use of Thermo-Mechanically Treated (TMT) bars of
grade Fe-500D or more, including straightening, cutting, bending, and binding.

❖ FINISHING AND FLOORING:

o Plastering: 12mm thick cement plaster for external surfaces and manholes.
o Painting: Internal walls finished with plastic emulsion paint and external
surfaces with synthetic enamel paint (two or more coats) or melamine polishing
on wood work.
o Flooring: Providing and laying vitrified floor tiles (size 600x600 mm) on 20mm
thick cement mortar 1:4, with water absorption less than 0.08%

❖ WATER SUPPLY, SANITARY, AND DRAINAGE:

o Piping: Installation of CPVC pipes for hot and cold water supply and heavy-
duty PVC pipes (6 Kg) for sewer lines.
o Drainage: 150mm diameter S.W. pipes and non-pressure NP2 class RCC pipes
with collars.
o Manholes: Construction of brick masonry manholes with S.F.R.C. covers and
frames (HD-20 grade) weighing not less than 182 kg.

❖ STEEL AND ROOFING:


o Structural Steel: Built-up sections, trusses, and framed work including cutting,
hoisting, and applying a priming coat of approved steel primer.
o Roofing: Precoated galvanized iron profile sheets (0.50mm thickness) with zinc
coating, epoxy primer, and polyester top coat.
NOTICE INVITING TENDER (NIT)

Name of Work: Construction of a G+1 Residential Building (including Living, Dining,


Kitchen, 4 Bedrooms, Foyer, and Car Porch as per architectural plan).

1. Type of Contract: This project is designated as a Sealed Item Rate Tender. Only rates
quoted for each item in the Schedule of Quantities shall be considered for evaluation. Any
tender containing percentages above or below the rates is liable to be rejected.

• One similar work costing not less than 80% of the estimated cost.

4. Submission of Tender: Tenders must be submitted in two separate sealed envelopes:

• ENVELOPE – I (Technical Bid): Shall contain EMD, registration for GST, PAN/TAN cards, and
proof of work experience.
• ENVELOPE – II (Price Bid): Shall contain only the Schedule of Quantities (BOQ) with prices.
Conditional offers or the presence of the price bid inside the technical envelope will lead to summary
rejection.

5. Site Inspection: Tenderers are advised to inspect and examine the site and its surroundings
to satisfy themselves as to the nature of the ground, subsoil, and means of access before
submitting their tenders. Non-familiarity with site conditions will not be accepted as a reason
for extra claims.
6. Award of Work: The Corporation/Owner does not bind itself to accept the lowest tender
and reserves the right to reject any or all tenders without assigning any reason. The work shall
be awarded to the lowest bidder (L-1) subject to the fulfillment of technical experience and
other contractual conditions.
7. Agreement: The successful bidder shall be required to enter into a formal agreement on a
non-judicial stamp paper of requisite value within ten days from the date of receipt of the
acceptance work order
GENERAL CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT
