UNIT-5
NATURAL ACCEPTANCE OF HUMAN VALUES
or
UNIVERSAL VALUES NATURALLY EMERGING FROM THE RIGHT UNDERSTANDING
As we have understood that units and space are submerged. It is called existence and co-existence. So we can
understand that harmony is innate and orderliness is in the existence. We need to understand and realize it.
There is no need to create harmony, innateness, orderliness in existence.
The universal human values are manifestation of the truth of existence (harmony, coexistence) in various
dimensions of human interaction in terms of participation in the universal order. These are naturally acceptable
to all human beings and conducive to human happiness.
Only our ignorance, our wrong preconditioning, our illusion about ourselves, illusion about the existence, illusion
about the nature of sensory interactions, and about our relationship, with things around us, all these illusions
lead to all the difficulties and confusions in appreciating and inculcating these universal values.
Continuous self-observation and self-exploration into entire existence enables us to realize this truth. Once we
are able to get rid of our false preconditioning and move ourselves to our natural acceptance, the inculcation of
human values becomes spontaneous (easy). This is true for all human beings and for all the time.
This understanding is a source of great solace (calmness), great relief (comfort) and great confidence in the
whole human race.
The values cannot be enforced through-
a) Fear
b) Greed
c) Blind faith/ beliefs
The universal values are the truths of existence and always present there. We have to understand it through
self-exploration and live according to it to be happy. In this way we can understand that human values are
naturally accepted.
DEFINITIVENESS OF ETHICAL HUMAN CONDUCT
The right understanding gained through self-exploration also enables us to identify the definitiveness of human
conduct. It is also called ethical human conduct. It is same for all human beings.
The features of this definite ethical human conduct-
1. Values - Values are a part of our ethical conduct. Values are the outcome of realization and
understanding, which are always definite. When the self understands the reality correctly and
underlying harmony at all levels of existence and its participation in existence then the self is able to
perceive the universal human values as a part of this reality.
2. Policy- After understanding values and inherent harmony in the existence, the self is able to develop an
ethical sense in all works. The self always thinks, behaves, and works towards nurturing this harmony.
It leads us to adopt policies conducive to human welfare, conducive to enrichment, protection and right
utilization of mind, body and wealth.
3. Character- The definiteness of desire, thought and selection gives us definiteness of our living.
Definiteness of character is the outcome of the definiteness of our behavior and work.
Following things are must for character-
a. Chastity (Purity) in conjugal (married) relationship. (purity in husband wife relationship)
b. Rightful production, acquisition and utilization of wealth.
c. Humane behavior and work with kindness.
This definiteness of human conduct in terms of values, policies and character is called ethics.
Ethical conduct has following characteristics necessarily-
1) Ethical conduct must be naturally acceptable to self and does not give rise to conflict within self.
2) It must be in consonance with the right understanding of reality of underlying harmony at all levels
3) It must lead mutual fulfillment with other people and mutual enrichment with rest of nature.
BASIS FOR HUMANISTIC EDUCATION AND HUMANISTIC CONSTITUTION AND HUMANISTIC UNIVERSAL
ORDER
● Humanistic Education- The basis or core of humanistic education is-
“Inculcation of right understanding at all 4 levels (individual, family, society, nature/existence) and
development of the competence to live in accordance with it”
Humanistic education will incorporate appropriate integration of values and skills so that human
beings are able to understand their physical needs correctly and adopt suitable techniques and production
system to cater or fulfill these needs in an eco-friendly and people friendly manner.
It will facilitate the process of self-exploration which will lead to continuous self-evolution of human
beings. It will also help to realize and understand the universality of ethical human conduct and to understand
that only value based living can help to get continuous happiness and prosperity for one and all.
● Humanistic Constitution- The basis for humanistic constitution is-
“Clear guidelines and policy framework, working towards the comprehensive human goal and developing the
competence for ethical human conduct.”
It will safeguard to social justice in true sense. At present time humans are divided into various
religions, caste and nationalities whose objectives and interests are proving contrary (against) to those of
others.
Today our efforts are towards trying to stop a wrong behavior by doing equally or more wrong behavior,
stop a crime by executing a bigger crime, stop violence by greater violence. This can never be successful in
long run. It will create circle or cycle of wrong activities.
It can be set right only by developing human consciousness, by right understanding and right living
among people. Ensuring justice and protection in society and moving from family to world family, the
humanistic constitution will provide the basis of harmonious living.
● Humanistic Universal Order (Universal Human Order)
The whole existence is already operating in harmony. The human being is needed to understand and to
appreciate this harmony and to play our role in the whole existence. On the basis of the understanding of
harmony, we get a notion (idea) of an undivided society and universal human order.
The universal human order will comprise (include) of-
1) The five dimensions of human endeavor towards a fragmented society.
2) The steps of organisation from family to world family, each having right understanding.
Family Family Village Village World
cluster (community) cluster family
COMPETENCE IN PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
The development of ethical competence is a long term process. It can be achieved through appropriate value
education. There will be competence in professional ethics of human being, if an individual has following two
abilities-
a) Ability to utilize the professional competence for augmenting (grow or increase) universal human order.
b) Ability to identify the scope and characteristics of people-friendly and eco-friendly production systems,
technologies and management models.
These abilities will come by right understanding and by following five features given above.
Features of having ability and competence in professional ethics-
1) Clarity about the comprehensive human goal- Right
Understanding-Prosperity-Trust(Fearlessness)-Coexistence (Samadhan-samriddhi-Abhay-sahastitva)
and its fulfillment through universal human order from family to world family.
2) Confidence in oneself as well as confidence in the harmony, coexistence and self-regulation prevailing
in entire existence based on the right understanding of oneself and rest of the nature.
3) Competence of mutually full filling behavior, clarity and confidence in ethical human conduct and its
correlation with sustainable personal as well as collective happiness and prosperity.
4) Competence of mutually enriching interaction with nature, ability to assess the needs for physical
facilities for the family and their fulfillment through production systems ensuring harmony in nature.
5) Competence of actualizing one’s understanding in real life.
CASE STUDIES OF TYPICAL HOLISTIC TECHNOLOGIES, MANAGEMENT MODELS AND
PRODUCTION SYSTEMS
There are following topics for case studies of typical holistic technologies, management models and
production systems-
1) Renewable and decentralized energy technologies-
a) Biomass based energy conversion systems such as-

large number of NGOs and socio-spiritual organizations as well as by some motivated individuals. It
will be quite fruitful to familiarize with some of these through the above case studies.
STRATEGY FOR TRANSITION FROM THE PRESENT STATE TO UNIVERSAL HUMAN
ORDER
We will study it in two steps-
A. Transition (Evolution) at the in level of individual- as socially and ecologically responsible engineers,
technologists and managers-
There are following steps-
a) Right understanding through self-exploration
b) Implement right understanding in day to day life
c) Continuous self-observation and self-exploration
d) Correct evaluation of beliefs and preconditioning and focus on activity of self and body
e) Focus on mutual fulfilling and mutual enriching
f) Move towards more people-friendly and eco-friendly systems
g) Realize the need of self correctly and coexist with all levels with more harmony and confidence
h) Right understanding in thought, behavior, and work
i) It will result in our own realization and own experiential validation.
j) Now we become our own guide. We become Swatantra (Self-organized).
B. Transition at the level of society- as mutually energy institutions and organisations
There is strong interconnectedness and coexistence among human being and rest of the nature. The
self-evolution by individuals also helps to maintain harmony at all levels.
Following key points help in social living-
a) Right understanding
b) Honesty
c) Accountability to participate in larger order with right understanding
d) Participation in larger order including family, society, nature according to one’s competence, capacity
and aptitude.
Steps to transition at levels of society-
a) Promoting mass awareness and moving towards humanistic Education.
b) Evolving holistic models of living
c) Amending policies, programs and social systems in tune with comprehensive human goal.
The individuals having right understanding will help to maintain harmony in family. The families will provide the
natural training grounds for the evolution for its members, so will be a society. Such individuals and families
will then be instrumental in collectively working towards Swarajya- working towards Akhand Samaj and
Sarvbhaum Vyavastha.
The ethos (ethics) in the society will gradually change from the present untenable Sensuality mania,
Consumerism mania, Profit mania to that of working for comprehensive human goal
Right Trust
Prosperity Coexistence
Understanding (Fearlessness)
In every
In every Family In Society In Nature
Individual
In this way the purpose of human life is to maintain harmony in whole existence in the light of right
understanding and achieve comprehensive human goal.
