week 1: review of last term's work
we begin this term by looking back at what we learned in the second term.

### the screen
the screen is a very important part of many it devices. it is the flat surface

### how we use screens
we use screens for many different activities every day:

friends.
4. monitoring: screens show us the time on a watch or the results of a game.

## week 4: part of common it device (keypad)
### the keypad
a keypad is a set of buttons with numbers, letters, or symbols on them. we
use our fingers to press these buttons to give instructions to the device.

* basic gsm phones.

* automated teller machines (atm).
* remote controls for televisions.
### difference between a keyboard and a keypad
a keyboard is usually large and used for computers, while a keypad is smaller
and often used for simple tasks like typing a phone number.

### why we use keypads
keypads allow us to talk to our devices:

phone.
2. typing: we use it to type short messages or names.
3. calculations: on a calculator, we use the keypad to add or subtract
numbers.
4. security: we use keypads to type in passwords or pin numbers at an atm.

### how to use a keypad properly
to use a keypad, you should:
1. press the buttons gently with your fingertips.
2. make sure you are pressing the correct number or letter.
3. keep the keypad clean and dry.

### what is a fax machine?
a fax machine is an electronic device used to send and receive copies of
printed documents through a telephone line.
### how it works
you put a piece of paper into the machine, it "scans" the words and pictures,
and sends them to another fax machine far away. the other machine then
prints out an exact copy of your paper.

## week 9: uses of electronic device (liquid dispenser)
### what is a liquid dispenser?
an electronic liquid dispenser is a machine that gives out a specific amount
of liquid, like water, soap, or juice, when you press a button or put your hand
under a sensor.
### types of dispensers
* water dispensers: found in offices and homes for drinking water.
* automatic soap dispensers: found in toilets to help keep hands clean.
* juice dispensers: used in restaurants to serve drinks.

## week 10: uses of electronic device (an organiser)
### what is an electronic organiser?
an electronic organiser is a small device used to help people plan their time.
today, many people use the "calendar" or "notes" app on a smartphone as
an organiser.
### what an organiser does
1. stores names and phone numbers (address book).
2. reminds us of important dates like birthdays.
3. keeps a list of things we need to do (to-do list).
4. has a clock and an alarm to wake us up.

1. mention one thing we can save in an electronic organiser.
