Module-6
What is Virtual Reality?
• A computer-generated simulation of an alternative
universe or reality is referred to as virtual reality.
• It is implemented in 3D films as well as 3D video games.
• Through the use of computers and various sensory
instruments such as headsets and gloves, it is possible to
"immerse" the viewer in simulated environments that are
analogous to the actual world.
• In addition to its application in the gaming and
entertainment industries, virtual reality has also found its
way into the fields of education, science, and training
Benefits of Using Virtual Reality
• Virtual Reality offers the following benefits −
• Learning through immersion·
• Develop a setting that encourages interaction.· ·
• Improve your competencies in the workplace.
Drawbacks of Virtual Reality
• Here are the drawbacks of using Virtual Reality −
• Virtual reality is becoming increasingly widespread, but computer
programmers will never be able to interact with the environments they
create.·
• People who utilize virtual reality environments frequently engage in
escapism, and as a result, they begin to live their lives in the virtual world
rather than focusing on solving the problems of the actual world.
• The results of training in a virtual reality environment will never be the
same as the results of training and working in the real world.
• This indicates that even if a person performs well with simulated tasks
in a virtual reality environment, there is no assurance that the same
person will perform well in the actual world.
Applications of Virtual Reality

What is Augmented Reality?
• The term "augmented reality" refers to the process of
creating a synthetic environment by combining the digital
world with the aspects of the real world.
• apps that combine digital elements into the physical world
and are made utilising augmented reality technologies for
mobile devices or desktop computers.
• Augment Reality is the complete name for AR.
Benefits of Using Augmented Reality
• Here is a list of some of the benefits of using Augmented Reality −
• Personalized instruction is available here.
• Creating an environment that promotes learning· ·
• Wide array of fields· ·
• Provides both original thought and ongoing enhancements· ·
• Increase accuracy·
• The user's access to more information and knowledge can be expanded
through the usage of augmented reality.
• People can communicate their experiences with one another despite great
distances.·
• Provides assistance to game creators in the creation of games that provide
users a "genuine" experience.·
Metaverse
• Metaverse is an environment that allows people to interact
with each other, work together, and play games virtually.
• It is an enhanced version of physical reality as a virtual
environment that uses virtual reality, augmented reality,
and internet technologies.
