1 Feasibility Study of "Rent For Cents" System
The proposed system "Rent For Cents" is a web-based platform designed to facilitate renting of bikes
and bicycles between users and managers. The system includes features such as user registration,
manager dashboard, vehicle listing, booking system, OTP-based authentication, and feedback
handling.
The project is considered viable based on the following factors:
# Feasibility Type Assessment
1 Technical Feasibility The system is built using widely used technologies such as [Link] for
frontend, [Link] and [Link] for backend, and MongoDB for database.
These technologies are open-source, well-documented, and suitable for
scalable web applications. Therefore, technical implementation is feasible.
2 Operational The platform provides a user-friendly interface for both users and managers.
Feasibility Users can easily browse, book vehicles, and submit queries, while managers
can manage vehicles and confirm bookings. Hence, the system is practical for
real-world usage.
3 Economic Feasibility Since the project uses free and open-source technologies, the development
cost is minimal. No expensive hardware or licensing is required, making it
cost-effective.
4 Schedule Feasibility The project can be completed within a reasonable academic timeframe as it
follows a modular structure (authentication, booking, dashboard, etc.), allowing
parallel development.
Therefore, based on technical, operational, economic, and schedule considerations, the
"Rent For Cents" system is feasible and viable for development and deployment.
2 Effort Estimation Matrix for "Rent For Cents"
The development effort of the system is divided into different modules based on functionality. Each
module is assigned an estimated number of person-days required for completion.
Effort
# Module Description (Person-Day

1 Requirement Analysis Understanding system needs and planning 5
2 System Design UI/UX design and architecture planning 6
3 Frontend Development User interface using [Link] 12
4 Backend Development API creation using [Link] & Express 14

TOTAL ESTIMATED
EFFORT 76
This matrix shows the total development effort required to complete the "Rent For Cents" system.
Figure 1: Effort Distribution Pie Chart
Feasibility Study Report — Rent For Cents Page 2
3 Cost Estimation
Total Effort = 76 person-days
Cost per person per day = Rs. 20,000
Total Cost = 76 x 20,000
Total Estimated Cost = Rs. 15,20,000
Thus, the estimated cost required to develop the system is Rs. 15.2 Lakhs.
4 Available Effort Calculation
Team Size = 5 members
Working Days = 44 days
Total Available Effort = 5 x 44
= 220 Person-Days
Hence, the team can provide a total of 220 person-days for the project.
5 Comparison of Estimated Effort and Available Effort
Metric Value Status
Estimated Effort 76 person-days Required
Available Effort 220 person-days Available
Buffer (Surplus) 144 person-days Extra Capacity
Since the available effort is greater than the estimated effort, the project can be completed within the
given timeframe.
There is a buffer of 144 person-days, which can be used for handling unexpected delays, additional
features, or improvements.
6 Technical Limitations
Although the "Rent For Cents" system is feasible, there are some technical limitations:

# Technical Limitation
1 The system depends on internet connectivity for all operations.
2 OTP authentication relies on Firebase services, which may fail if network issues occur.
3 Image upload functionality is limited by file size and format restrictions.
4 The system currently does not include an integrated online payment gateway.
5 Performance may reduce if a large number of users access the system simultaneously.
These limitations can be improved in future versions of the system.
7 Elimination of Features Based on Constraints
Based on time and resource constraints, some features are limited or excluded in the current version:
# Feature / Constraint Decision
1 Online payment integration is not implemented. Not Implemented
Advanced security features like encryption and multi-factor authentication are
2 Limited in v1
limited.
3 Real-time notifications and tracking are not included. Not Included
4 Multi-admin distribution system is not implemented (single manager handling). Not Implemented
These features can be added in future updates when more resources are available.

8 Feasibility Check with 20% Overload
Estimated Effort = 76 person-days
20% Overload = 76 x 0.2 = 15.2 ≈ 15 person-days
Total Effort with Overload = 76 + 15
= 91 person-days
Available Effort = 220 person-days
Parameter Value
Estimated Effort 76 person-days
20% Overload Addition 15 person-days
Total Required (with overload) 91 person-days
Available Effort 220 person-days
Surplus After Overload 129 person-days
Verdict PROJECT IS STILL FEASIBLE
Since the available effort (220 person-days) is greater than the required effort with
overload (91 person-days), the project is still feasible even under additional workload
conditions.
9 Conclusion
After analyzing the effort, cost, resource availability, and technical constraints, it can be concluded
that the "Rent For Cents" system is feasible.
The project can be completed within the available time and budget. Even with a 20% increase in
workload, the team has sufficient capacity to complete the system successfully.
Therefore, the project is viable for development, and no major reduction in scope is required.
Criterion Result
Total Estimated Effort 76 Person-Days
Total Estimated Cost Rs. 15,20,000
Team Available Effort 220 Person-Days

Effort with 20% Overload 91 Person-Days
Available Surplus 129 Person-Days
Scope Reduction Required? NO
