PMTCT

The PMTCT report from Agaro General Hospital indicates that 2,374 pregnant and lactating women were tested for HIV, with only 2 new positive cases identified. ART initiation for PMTCT was limited to 4 women, and partner testing was not conducted at all. Early infant diagnosis showed no positive cases, and infant prophylaxis coverage was modest, highlighting potential gaps in HIV detection and treatment services.

Brief Summary
The hospital is actively offering PMTCT services, with good
HIV testing uptake (2,374 women). However, new HIV-
positive case identification among pregnant/lactating
women is very low (only 2), raising questions about either
low seroprevalence or possible under-detection. ART
initiation for PMTCT is limited (4 total), and partner testing
is completely absent. Early infant diagnosis sampling is
ongoing, with no positive cases detected in the reported
period. Infant prophylaxis coverage is modest (4–9
infants).
