Reading Text: The Planets in Our Solar

System
The Solar System is made up of the Sun and eight planets. The planets move around the Sun.
Each planet is different in size, color, and temperature.

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. It is very hot during the day and very cold at night.
Venus is the hottest planet because it has thick clouds that trap heat.

Earth is the only planet with life. It has water, air, and plants. Mars is called the “Red Planet”
because of its color. Scientists think there may have been water on Mars in the past.

Jupiter is the biggest planet in the Solar System. It is a gas giant and has a big red storm. Saturn
is famous for its beautiful rings.

Uranus and Neptune are very cold planets. They are far away from the Sun. Neptune is the
farthest planet and has very strong winds.

All the planets are interesting and unique. Scientists study them to learn more about space.
