Continous Current Rating of the selected cable in ground (In Ground (30⁰C))
= 312 Amps ( as per Havells Catalogue)
%Vd = 0.1501 %
I/S =k/ t
Where
S= Cross sectional area in sq. millimetres
I= Value of Fault current in kA = 25
t= time of current flow in seconds = 0.8
k= factor depending on the material of protective conductor. = 94.1 Al. cond.

HT Cables - Sizing Calculations ( HT Panel at 38.4MW Block to 33kV Main HT panel at MCR)
Continous Current Rating of the selected cable in ground (In Ground (30⁰C))
= 447 Amps ( as per IS 7098-2)
%Vd = 0.2371 %
Hence , Hence , over all power loss for 38.4MW Block is 0.17 %
I/S =k/ t
Where
S= Cross sectional area in sq. millimetres
I= Value of Fault current in kA = 25
t= time of current flow in seconds = 0.8
k= factor depending on the material of protective conductor. = 94.1 Al. cond.
Hence 33kV(HT), 9 Runs of 1C Selected of XLPE Aluminium "Ar" Cable Size of 1C x 500Sq. mm is adequate.
