Practical Task 4 –e-Hospital

Topic: Explore the e-hospital website and write down its features, steps and
attach screenshots.
e-Hospital is a web-based hospital‑management system developed by the National
Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India, to digitize government hospitals.

It supports OPD/IPD registration, billing, lab, radiology, pharmacy, stores, e-Blood Bank
and other hospital modules.

It also provides an online patient portal (ORS –Online Registration System) for
appointment booking, lab-report viewing and blood-availability information.

e-Hospital reduces paper work, improves record‑keeping, and helps patients book
appointments and check reports online.

Features of e-Hospital
Online Registration System (ORS): Patients can register and book appointments online
using Aadhaar/mobile number.

OPD and IPD management: Handles OPD registration, casualty/emergency


registration, admission–discharge–transfer (IPD).

Billing and accounts: Integrated billing module for generating bills and managing
payments.

Lab and Radiology: Supporting Path Lab (LIS), Radiology/Imaging (RIS), PACS interface
and lab-report viewing by patients.

Pharmacy and stores: Manages pharmacy stock, issue to patients, and general
hospital inventory.

e-Blood Bank: Tracks blood-donation camps, donor details, blood-bag management


and blood-availability information.

Reports and dashboards: Provides hospital-level reports and dashboards for


administration.

Steps to Explore the e-Hospital Website


Step 1: Open the e-Hospital/ORS website
1. Open your browser (Chrome, Edge, etc.).
2. Go to the official e-Hospital/ORS website (for example: https://
[Link]/ehospital/ or the specific hospital ORS link given by
your teacher).

Step 2: Register as a new patient


1. Look for a button like "Register" / "New Registration" / "ORSPatient
Registration" and click on it.
2. Fill in the required details: Name, Date of birth, Gender, Mobile number,
Aadhaar (if asked).
3. Click "Register" or "Submit" and then enter the OTP sent to your mobile for
confirmation.

Step 3: Book an appointment (ORS)


1. After login or registration, find the option "Book Appointment" / "Take
Appointment" / "ORS".
2. Select Hospital, Department, Doctor (if shown), and Date.
3. Click on a time-slot and confirm booking; note the appointment/token
number shown on the screen.

Step 4: View lab reports (if available)


1. Look for options like "View Lab Reports", "Lab Results", or "Reports".
2. Enter your details (token, mobile, or Aadhaar) if asked, then click "Search /
View".

Step 5: Check blood-availability / e-Blood Bank (if available)


1. Look for an option like "Blood Availability" / "e-Blood Bank".
2. Select Blood group and City/Hospital (if shown), then click "Search / Check
Availability".
