ISLEC-IT for the academic year 2024-28
IV SEM SYLLABUS
Course Code Course Title Core/Elective
[ISL24U PC 2201IT] OOPs USING JAVA
Course Objectives:
1. To introduce the fundamental concepts and principles of Object-Oriented Programming.
2. To familiarize students with the Java programming language and its core features.
3. To develop the ability to design and implement object-oriented and GUI-based Java
programs.
4. To provide knowledge of Java APIs for multithreading, collections, file handling, and
database connectivity.
5. To enable students to build basic web applications using Servlets, JSP, and JDBC.
Course Outcomes:
1. Apply OOPs Concepts (inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and abstraction) to solve
real-world problems using Java
2. Design and Implement Java Applications, leveraging Java's data types, operators, control
statements, and object-oriented constructs such as classes, methods, and constructors.
3. Able to efficiently manage exceptions using Java's exception handling mechanism and
design multi-threaded applications using Java’s concurrency model.
4. Design interactive GUI applications using AWT, and manage user interactions through
event-driven programming.
5. To integrate Java with web technologies like Servlets and JSP, and will be capable of
creating Java applications that connect to relational databases through JDBC to perform
CRUD operations.
