SCENARIO 2: A Parent is Worried That

Her Child with Disability Cannot Cope

Scene 1: Introduction

Narrator:
In a typical classroom, every child learns differently. But for some parents, the
fear that their child may not cope can be overwhelming. Today, we witness how
collaboration between school and family can make a difference.

Scene 2: At Home

Parent:
Eyriel, are you okay? You seem tired again… Is school too hard for you?

Child:
Mom… I try, but I don’t understand the lessons like my classmates do.

Parent:
I’m worried… maybe you can’t keep up…

Scene 3: Parent Meets Teacher

Parent:
Ma’am, I’m really worried about my child. I don’t think she can cope with the
lessons because of her condition.
Teacher:
Thank you for sharing your concern. Your child can learn—we just need to
support her in the right way.

Parent:
But I see her struggling every day…

Teacher:
That’s why we work together. I’ve observed that she learns better with visual aids
and guided activities. With proper support, she can improve.

Scene 4: Collaboration Meeting

Principal:
We are here to ensure every learner succeeds. Let’s discuss how we can
support Eyriel.

Guidance Counselor:
We can provide emotional support and monitor her progress.

SPED Coordinator:
We can modify lessons and provide individualized strategies suited to her needs.

Teacher:
I will adjust my teaching methods and give her more time and assistance.

Parent:
Thank you… I didn’t know there were so many ways to help her.
