Competency: Draw images and basic shapes by handling the mouse in a drawing
tool to acquire mouse balance and techniques.

Topic: Computer Mouse

Objectives: At the end of the lesson, each child should be able to:
● use different mouse actions to play mouse-balancing games.
● state the purpose of left-click, right-click, double-click, drag and drop.
● play online games to improve mouse-clicking accuracy and
mouse-dragging actions.

Prior Knowledge:
● Basic skills of a keyboard.
● Basic parts of a computer.

Lesson Description
This lesson introduces students to the computer mouse and its various functions.
Through videos and hands-on activities, students will learn about different mouse
actions and their purposes. By playing online games that involve mouse use,
students learn how to use and handle a mouse effectively.

Introduction
Begin the lesson by showing different parts of a computer and ask
them to name them as the teacher shows. Let students hold a
computer mouse and ask students what they can do with it. 10 mins
Explain the purpose of a computer mouse and demonstrate proper
grip and control. Use the link to explain what a mouse is and its

Activity 1: Introducing different mouse actions.


To know the different actions of a mouse (left click, right-click, double
click, drag, drop and scroll) let students watch a video through the link-
[Link] After watching the
video, ask the students to share some of the mouse actions and their
purposes which were explained in the video.

Then, demonstrate proper grip and control of a computer mouse.

Explain the purpose of each mouse action as follows.


1. Left click: used to select items or open files.
2. Right-click: used to access additional options or context menus.
3. Double-clicking: used to open items.
4. Drag and drop: used to move items from one location to another.

Activity 2: Practicing mouse handling games


To practice holding and clicking a mouse, let students play the
following games. Tell students to share their experiences after playing
the games.
