"Long, long ago, humans did not have houses, schools, or shops. They lived in caves or under trees.
They moved from place to place, looking for food. They hunted animals and collected berries, roots,
and fruits from forests. They did not know how to farm or cook. Life was tough – they had to fight
wild animals and survive storms. Over thousands of years, early humans learned to make tools from
stones. They discovered fire by striking rocks together. Fire kept them warm, scared away animals,
and helped them cook food. Slowly, they began to live in groups for safety. They started painting
pictures on cave walls – these are some of the oldest records of human life. Scientists called
archaeologists dig up old bones and tools to learn about early humans."

"India is the world's largest democracy. In a democracy, people choose their leaders by voting.
When citizens vote, they pick representatives who go to Parliament and make laws for the country.
India has two houses of Parliament – the Lok Sabha (House of the People) and the Rajya Sabha
(Council of States). The Prime Minister is the head of the government and leads the Cabinet. The
President is the head of the nation. The Constitution of India is the most important document – it
describes the rights and duties of citizens and the rules the government must follow. Every citizen
