Task 1

The graph illustrates the information on the number of participants for different activities at on
social center in Melbourne, Australia, for the period 2000 to 2020.

Most individuals participated in a film club of around 65 members in a social center in 2000. The
number of members who participated in 2005,2010,2015, and 2020 was quite the same. The
martial art activities involved 35 participants in 2000, which decreased by 5 participants in 2005.
40 participants participated in martial arts in 2020.

The amateur dramatics activities in which 25 people took part in 2000, and 30 participants took
part in 2005. The dramatic fall was seen in participants in 2010, and this fall continued towards
2020. The people who took part in table tennis was 15 to 18 people from 2000 to 2010. A huge
increase was seen in table tennis participants from 2015 to 2020, which was 35 to 55
participants. No one took part in a musical performance in 2000 and 2005. 10 participants took
part in a musical performance, which number increased by 5 consecutive numbers for further
years from 2015 and 2020.

To sum it up. A great fall was seen in amateur dramatics participants, while on the other hand, a
great rise was seen in table tennis participants. Only musical performance activities where no
one took part in 2000 and 2005. A high number of participants was seen in film club activities.

Task 2

Nowadays, there is an argumentative debate between people in which some individuals believe
that competition at work, at school, and in daily life is a good thing. While others believe that
we should try to cooperate more, rather than compete against each other.

A competition is very necessary in life to get better and better. At school, teachers organized
many exams that enhance their students' ability and skills. This type of exam in which students
compete with other students and learn many things, whether they win or lose. At work, the
owner distributes many tasks among the workers to get the best results and polish their work
skills and work knowledge. In addition, now every field has competition, and everyone faces
competition in their daily life. This type of competition increases their skill, knowledge. I think
without competition, people don’t have the motivation to become better and better.

On the other hand, some individuals believe that everyone should try to cooperate and not
compete with each other. They think sometimes competition has bad results, and sometimes
the reasons for fights. Like in cricket matches, everyone has experienced that two friends
become enemies while playing a match against each other. These types of competitions have
bad effects on individuals' relations and their friendships. At work and at school, some
individuals take competition too seriously and hate each other and dislike each other.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that competition has the advantages are more than
disadvantages. Competition has an impeccable impact on individuals' skills and knowledge.
Sometimes competition results are not good, but overall, it is important to become better and
better.
