You will need: Suggested yarn:


DK yarn in chosen colours. - Knitcraft cotton blend plain DK from Hobbycraft. (100g = 215m)
4.5mm crochet hook (or hook needed to achieve correct tension). - You’ll need: 5(5/5/6/7) x Denim, 1 x Light pink, 1 x Coral, 1 x Yellow,
Yarn needle. Stitch markers. 1 x Lilac.

Pattern notes: Abbreviations:
This pattern is created by working the fronts and backs separately and joining at the shoulder seams. The front is This pattern is written in UK
worked from the neckline outwards in a U shape. This enables you to adjust the width and length to suit as you crochet terms.

Front:
You will start by working a single chain, then add rows of clusters to form the neck slit. You will then continue to work in trebles around the
neck in a U shape, to form the front piece. See chart on nxt page – fig.1. If making a plain colour top, use chart for reference.
ALL SIZES WORK AS FOLLOWS: Using a 4.5mm hook & yarn A, 43ch. Fo.
R1: Attach yarn B to first ch. 2ch (counts as first tr), miss 1 ch, 1 cluster in nxt ch, [miss 2 ch, 1 cluster in nxt ch] 6 times, 2ch, 1 cluster in nxt ch,
2ch, 1 cluster in nxt ch, [miss 2 ch, 1 cluster in nxt ch] 6 times, miss 1 ch, 1tr in last ch, Fo.

From this point on; 1 cluster, 2ch, 1 cluster will be abbreviated to ccg (cluster corner group).
R2: Rtn to beg of row. With rs facing, attach yarn C in sp between 2ch and cluster. 2ch 1tr, [1 cluster in nxt cluster sp] 6 times, ccg in ch sp, ccg

Front cont.
Before starting the next row, attach a length of yarn A into the top of the first st of current row & 16ch, Fo. This is so that we can extend the
next row up to the shoulders. See fig 2.

Back:
Using yarn A, 73(81/89/101/113)ch.
R1: Tr into 3rd ch from hook, tr into each ch to end. Total 72(80/88/100/112)sts.
R2: 2ch, (counts as first st) 71(79/87/99/111)tr. Turn
Rep previous row 38(41/43/46/50) times. Turn. (After a few rows, check the back is the same width as front. If not, adjust tension or st count).
Shape neckline: 2ch, 20(24/28/34/40)tr, fo. Count 21(25/29/35/41)sts in from left side & attach yarn to top of st. 2ch, 20(24/28/34/40)tr. Fo.

With right sides facing in, pin SHOULDER seams, matching up sts. Using a yarn needle and matching yarn, sew up using running stitch or
other suitable stitch.

Make tassels:
1. Find a flat object approx. 11cm long. Using yarn B, 3. Secure again with a knot 1cm from top.
wrap yarn over both sides of object 25 times. 4. Smooth out tassel and cut loops.
2. Secure at the top with a knot and slide off. 5. Trim tassel to 9cm. Make a second tassel in yarn C.

Neck edging and ties:
Weave in all ends around neckline. With RS facing, attach yarn A to corner of neckline on right side (see fig 3), and sl st evenly around neckline
(you may wish to use a bigger hook for this, to make it easier to work into your sl sts). Work approx. 15sts across right front neck, 17sts up
right side neck, 30sts across back neck, 17sts down left side neck and 15sts across left front neck. Fo.

Using 4.5mm hook, attach yarn A to top of first tassel and 70ch. Dc into first sl st on right side of front neck, dc into every sl st around neckline
until you reach end of left front neck, 70ch. Fo. Leave a tail and use this to attach to second tassel. Weave in ends.

Sewing together:
Mark centre of sleeve top with a stitch marker (see fig 4). Turn top WS out. Keep sleeve RS out and place sleeve inside top, inserting top of
sleeve into side seam. With RS of body and sleeve facing each other, line up stitch marker with shoulder seam (See Fig 5). Pin sleeve top along
edge of main body, ensuring that you don’t stretch the sleeve and that both sides are even. Sew in place using running stitch and a yarn
needle.
Still with RS facing in, pin side seams together and sew in place using same method (see fig 6). Turn through to RS.

Hem:
Sizes XS & S are going to extend the length and then ALL SIZES will work the hem trim of 3 rows (approx. 2.5cm). Other sizes may extend the
length also if desired, simply follow the instructions below:
Sizes XS & S only: With RS facing out, turn garment upside down and attach A to any side seam. 2ch, tr into each st all the way around the
hem. Join into top of 2ch with a sl st. TURN. Rep this row 4 times for XS. (2 times for S). Fo.

Hem trim:
Still with RS facing out, turn garment upside down and attach yarn B to any side seam. You should have 145(161/177/201/225)sts around the
hem. You are going to decrease slightly to taper the hem in. If you wish to keep your hem straight then simply work into every stitch without
decreasing. Work all the way around as follows:
Size XS: 2ch, [4tr, tr2tog] 23 times, 4tr, tr2tog, join into top of 2ch with a sl st. Fo. (122tsts)
Size S: 2ch, 2tr, tr2tog, [4tr, tr2tog] 26 times, join into top of 2ch with a sl st. Fo. (135tsts)
Size M: 2ch, tr2tog, [4tr, tr2tog] 29 times, join into top of 2ch with a sl st. Fo. (148tsts)
Size L: 2ch, [4tr, tr2tog] 30 times, [3tr, tr2tog] 4 times, join into top of 2ch with a sl st. Fo. (168tsts)
Size XL: 2ch, [4tr, tr2tog] 34 times, [3tr, tr2tog] 4 times, join into top of 2ch with a sl st. Fo. (188tsts)

Next row: Attach yarn C into top of last st. 2ch, tr into nxt st, tr into each st around hem.
Join to top of 2ch with a sl st. Fo.
Final row: Attach yarn E into top of last st. 2ch, htr into nxt st, htr into each st around hem.
Join to top of 2ch with a sl st. Fo.
