which means “common.”
Communication comes from the latin word “communicare”,
which means “to share.”
Communication is the art of transmitting information, ideas,
and attitudes from one person to another.

Generalization Statement:
Communication is the process of sending
and receiving messages between a
sender and a receiver. It involves several
elements such as the sender, message,
channel, receiver, feedback, and noise.
Effective communication happens when
the message is clearly understood by the
receiver.
Communication is a process where a sender delivers a
message through a channel to a receiver, who then
responds with feedback, while noise may affect the
understanding of the message.
IV. APPLICATION
Activity:
Direction: The students will act out the tele-can
communication.
Procedure:
1. Form pairs.
2. Stand apart. Partners should stand about 3-5
meters away from each other.
3. Keep the string tight. Make sure the string between
the cans is straight and not loose.
4. Assign roles. (One will be the sender. The other will
be the receiver.)
5. Send the message. The sender will speak clearly
into the can while the receiver listens through the
other can.
6. Receive and repeat. The receiver will repeat the
message aloud to confirm if the message was
received correctly.
7. Switch roles. After one message, change roles so
both students experience being the sender and the
receiver.
8. Observe carefully. Pay attention to what happens
when the string is tight, loose, or touched by
another object.
