INTRODUCTION
Taro cookies offer a delightful and innovative take on traditional baked treats, blending the
earthy richness of taro with a range of flavors and colorful toppings to satisfy both the eye and
the palate. Taro, known for its natural sweetness and soft texture, serves as the foundation of
this product, creating a cookie that stands out in both taste and nutritional value. This business
introduces four core flavors that cater to different taste preferences: the indulgent chocolate
syrup, the smooth and comforting vanilla syrup, the naturally vibrant and lightly sweetened
purple plain, and the rich, golden butter. To elevate the experience, the original taro cookies
can be enjoyed with a variety of toppings such as rainbow sprinkles, soft marshmallows,
colorful Nips, bold chocolate charcoal, and classic cookies and creme each one adding a unique
twist to every bite.
In this study, we explore the inspiration, formulation, and consumer appeal of taro cookies with
assorted flavors and toppings. By examining the growing interest in fusion desserts and the
desire for healthier, locally inspired snacks, this research aims to shed light on how traditional
ingredients like taro can be reimagined into modern, marketable confections (Lopez, 2022).
Also, this paper highlights the potential of this product in promoting cultural appreciation,
supporting local agriculture, and encouraging flavor experimentation within the Filipino dessert
industry (Delos Reyes & Bautista, 2020).
Through this research, we aim to contribute to a broader understanding of food innovation in
the local context, particularly how native ingredients can be elevated through creativity and
consumer-centered product development. By offering taro cookies in diverse flavors and
appealing combinations, this business not only satisfies modern snacking trends but also
redefines how traditional ingredients can thrive in today’s evolving culinary landscape (Santos,
2023).
