Nowadays, is thought that speaking one unique language, which is often the native one, is

enough. However, from my point of view, I disagree with this sentence. So, what about
learning a foreign language? In this essay I will be giving my arguments about why it is
important to learn one new language, talking about three different points : Jobs, travel and
meeting new people.

Well, in this days, is quite difficult searching for a job. That´s because you need a lot of skills,
experience, and most important, to speak more than one languages, because that is what
they are looking for. It's evident, that a candidature for a job it will be better seen if the
person has a certificate of more than one languages, and also if these certificates have a
high level of those ones. So, its verify that if in a curriculum are considered more than one
foreign languages, this person will be more able than others to get the job.

Also, another reason for learning a foreign language is for being able to travel around the
world. I´m sure that you can´t be totally comfortable in a city or place where you don't know
nothing about his language. This way, you won't be preparated for wondering something in a
restaurant or, if you need help, how will you communicate it if you don't know how to say it?
If instead of this, you know a foreign language, you will feel more free and comfortable at the
moment of talking with other tourist, asking questions…

The third reason why I consider this is very important, is for having the capacity of meeting
new people. If a new exchange student cames to your class maybe, knowing how to
communicate with him, because you know how to speak his language, it will give you the
opportunity to meet this person and have a good conversation. This way, you can meet new
people constantly, and maybe make new friends or learn new interesting things about other
cultures. If not, despite the fact that you wanted to talk with him, you wouldn't understand it.

To conclude, about the fact of learning a foreign language, I totally think that everyone
should try it. It only give you benefits! But if you're not agree, good luck searching for a new
job in plenty 2026…

Well, about your message, its great knowing that your friends are going to came to France.
I´m sure they are going to have much fun and they are going to learn a lot of the french
culture and history, which is very interesting!
