Preface
This project titled “WORK EXPERIENCE” has been undertaken as part of the academic
requirements for BCOM SEM-6. The objective of this project is to enhance
understanding of the concepts related to the subject and to apply theoretical
knowledge in a practical and meaningful way.
During the course of this work, I have explored various aspects , which has helped me
develop a deeper insight into the subject. The project has also improved my analytical
thinking, problem-solving abilities, and research skills.
I am also thankful to my parents and friends for their constant support and motivation.
Despite my best efforts, there may be some shortcomings in this project. I welcome
constructive suggestions for further improvement.

Executive Summary
This project was undertaken with the objective of gaining practical exposure to the
functioning, management, and societal impact of a Non-Governmental Organization
(NGO). NGOs play a crucial role in addressing social, economic, and environmental
challenges, particularly in areas where governmental and private sector interventions
are limited or insufficient. The project aimed to understand the operational framework
of an NGO, assess its contribution to community development, and identify the
challenges faced in delivering sustainable social impact.
The study involved active participation in various organizational activities over the
project duration. Key areas of engagement included community outreach, awareness
campaigns, beneficiary interaction, data collection, and support in the implementation
of ongoing programs. These activities provided firsthand experience of how NGOs plan,
execute, and monitor their initiatives at the grassroots level.
The NGO’s work primarily focused on critical social issues such as education,
healthcare, women empowerment, environmental conservation, and livelihood
development. Through structured programs and initiatives, the organization strives to
uplift underprivileged sections of society and promote inclusive growth. The project
observed that direct community engagement and need-based interventions are central
to the effectiveness of NGO operations.
Data for the project was collected through observations, informal interviews with staff
and beneficiaries, and review of organizational records. The analysis highlighted that
NGOs significantly contribute to improving the quality of life of marginalized
communities by providing access to essential services, spreading awareness, and
building local capacities. The organization demonstrated a strong commitment to its
mission, supported by dedicated staff and volunteers.
However, the project also identified several challenges faced by NGOs. Limited
financial resources, dependency on donations and grants, lack of skilled manpower,
and difficulties in scaling operations were among the key issues observed. Additionally,
maintaining transparency, ensuring accountability, and measuring long-term impact
remain ongoing concerns for many NGOs.
Despite these challenges, the NGO showcased resilience and adaptability by utilizing
innovative approaches such as community participation, partnerships with other
organizations, and the use of digital tools for outreach and management. These
strategies have helped in enhancing efficiency and expanding the reach of their
programs.
The project concludes that NGOs are vital agents of social change, playing a
complementary role to government efforts in achieving sustainable development goals.

Their grassroots presence and people-centric approach enable them to address issues
more effectively and empathetically. However, to maximize their impact, NGOs need to
adopt better resource management practices, strengthen stakeholder collaboration,
and leverage technology for improved monitoring and evaluation.
In conclusion, this project provided valuable insights into the functioning and
significance of NGOs in society. It emphasized the importance of dedication, strategic
planning, and community involvement in achieving meaningful and lasting social
impact. The experience gained through this project has enhanced understanding of the
development sector and highlighted the potential for future contributions in the field of
social work.

ABOUT AYSG(arham yuva seva group)
Arham Yuva Seva Group (AYSG) is a non-profit organization founded with a noble cause
ranging right from serving humanity to animal welfare. With the inspiration of
Rashtrasant Param Gurudev Shree Namramuni Maharaj Saheb, we are constantly
working towards our mission of "Spreading the Colours of Humanity".
Our Mission:
• Build a world where all youth are educated, loved & blessed!
Our Vision:
• A way of life that makes youth invest their spare time in activities that earned for
them rich moral and spiritual dividends.
Giving has always been an act of Self-Discovery
AYSG is now involved in activities in various fields including healthcare, education, rural
development, animal welfare, widow mother support and community development
among others.
We are able to impact so many lives throughout the year with projects and
activities such as:
• •Medical Camp and Checkup camps which include Doctors from all fields of
medicine
• •Education support in the form of school and college fees basis discretion and
approval from our central team
• •Rescuing birds which are hurt during Kite flying season
• •Monthly distribution of clothes and ration
• •Distributing Aamras during Summers
• •Sweets distribution as a part of "Maa Ka Prasad" initiative
• •Buttermilk distribution to help construction workers across the city beat the
scorching heat
• •Umbrella and Raincoat distribution to ensure that the less fortunate are
protected from heavy rains
• •Blanket and Sweater distribution to spread warmth to the needy and the list
goes on!

The past two years have been very difficult for every one amist national lockdown. We at
AYSG with various Covid-19 initiatives have tried to do our bit during these testing times.
Initiation of every AYSG member involves dedicating eight hours a month for AYSG
activities. Well directed efforts during these two hours every week, usually on a Sunday,
has brought about a sea change in the lives of the underprivileged and the needy.
This has also transformed the way of life for the AYSG member - instilling in them a
sense of discipline, purpose, happiness, joy of belonging, and teaching them how to
optimize efforts through team work, leadership, time management and other skills. It
has been delightfully observed that humbling experiences of selfless service makes
AYSG members think, act and speak in a way possible only when an individual is at
peace with self.
• AYSG core comprises of a diverse mix from college going students to successful
businessmen from varied walks of life.
• They collectively organize and execute various activities from social causes
ranging from humanitarian causes to animal welfare.
• In life, like-minded individuals, akin to birds of a feather, usually flock together!
Such is the common thread of ARHAM YUVA SEVA GROUP (AYSG).
• ARHAM’ for AYSG means an inner call to give up the ego, overcome anger,
exercising self-control and being passionate.
• It acts as a directive to channel power, vigour, exuberance and boundless energy
of youth since it is this pure state of mind that fosters selfless service to
mankind.
• Dedicated individuals, under guidance and supervision, were inducted into
AYSG.
• From a group of 50 dedicated individuals, AYSG now has more than 1200
members and presence all across India and abroad. From Mulund, Ghatkopar,
Borivali, Kandivili, Andheri, Mira Road, Sion, Chinchpokli, Malad in Mumbai to
Rajkot and Vadodara in Gujarat to Kolkata and Chennai, AYSG has more than 60
centres across India which are striving towards enriching lives of millions of
underprivileged people.
• AYSG is now involved in activities in various fields including healthcare,
education, rural development, animal welfare, widow mother support and
community development among others.
Ranging from assistance to individuals and families in need; providing

employment to the unemployed; caring for animals and birds; medical support;
providing poor children with school fees and books, medical aid for birds hurt

during kite flying festivals; monthly distribution of ration and clothes; offering
seasonal fruits, ice cream, kulfi, sherbets to fight the sweltering heat; blanket
distribution in winter and umbrellas / raincoats during monsoon; feeding animals
and preventing animals from being forcefully taken away for slaughter;
distribution of sweets on festive days to the poor and hungry; arranging a
religious pilgrimages for inmates of an old age home and much more.

ISKCON Annamrita presents the Certificate of Appreciation to Arham Yuva Seva Group
for extending whole hearted support to the Midday meal project being implemented by
ISKCON FOOD RELIEF FOUNDATION to feed underprivileged school children in
Maharashtra.
