property.
The goal of a rescue team is prompt evacuation of the victim from the site of the accident.

TYPES OF RESCUE OPERATION
Highway Rescue Operation: This is the operation carried out when there is a car accident on the
highway.
Air – Sea Rescue (ASR): this is the coordinated search and rescue of emergency water landing
and people who survived shipwreck or boat mishap
Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR): This search and rescue operation is carried out during war or
combat zone.
Mine Rescue: This is the specialized job of rescuing miners who are trapped or injured in
underground mines after mine accidents
Cave Rescue: This involved rescuing people trapped, lost, or injured in the wilderness or in caves.
Surface Water Rescue: This is the rescue of a person who is afloat on the surface of the body of
water.
Vehicle Extrication: This is the process of removing vehicle around a person who has been
involved in a motor accident.
Urban Search and Rescue: This involves the location, extrication and initial medical stabilization
of victims trapped in collapsed building or trenches.
Fire Rescue Operation: This is an operation rendered when there is a fire accident. Fire Accident
by electrical fault is called electrical fire. Accident as a result of gases, volatile liquid, are called
Chemical Fire. Physical accident resulting to fire is called Mechanical fire.
