Methodology: Explanation+ Discussion
Learners will focus on the illustrations and predict what the story will be about. They will
also guess why the story is titled Seekers & what are the Seekers doing/ involved in.
Learners will also share the meaning of seekers. They can look up the meaning in their
Dictionaries.
Learners will now skim & scan the text and discuss in pairs main idea/ theme of the
story, before they actually read it in detail. Circulate as they work to provide on spot
guidance.

Activity 2: Learners will share their favorite character/s from their favorite storybooks. Why do
they like the character? Learners will justify their choices
Activity 3: Learners will share their knowledge of jobs that require people to perform brave
acts to save lives. Do they personally know someone doing such a job e.g., being in the
army as a fighter/ soldier/ rescue worker; or working as a fire fighter / para-medic staff in
Rescue 1122 or a mountaineering rescue guide/ a helicopter rescue pilot etc.?

use a variety of strategies to gather ideas for writing.

Methodology: Explanation+ Discussion
In Groups learners will share their personal preferences on whether they like
reading, listening or watching stories.
Learners will share if they have ever tried to write a story of their own. Did they
share it with anyone?
Learners will answer the Big question: What makes a good story? Initiate a class
discussion encouraging learners to give their view points.
Activity 1: In pairs learners will ask a few short Qs. focusing on the pictures & predict what the
lesson will be about.
Activity 2: In Pairs students will discuss if they have ever thought of designing their own
superhero with some innovative qualities that will be especially helpful to them. Ask them to
make notes of their discussion. They will try to think of some new and different qualities in
addition to the ones normally superheroes already possess.
Activity 3: Have any of the learners personally performed an act of everyday bravery such as
saving a hit and run animal; helping an old person or giving out food to the needy specially
during the month of Ramadan?
Success Criteria: Remember to
write a guided story/ anecdote/ fable using elements of a story.
Assessment for learning: Group work & discussions for shared learning.

Students will share ideas using Brainstorming strategy to answer the Big question:
What is happening when you’re asleep? · Provide some guiding Qs. such as Do we
dream when we sleep? What do we dream about? etc.
Activity 1: They will share their information if they have heard of countries/places where the
days are much longer than the days in Pakistan. Do they know of places where nights/ days
seem to be never ending?
Activity 2: Learners to locate Norway on the Globe/ World Map to understand the location.
Activity 3: Students will share if they have been to Lahore or Karachi or any other city of
Pakistan. How is the landscape of these cities different from that of Islamabad /Rawalpindi?
What are the major differences?

Methodology: Explanation+ Discussion
Start the lesson by showings pictures of different birds. Identify their names and
categorize them as free & cage birds. Paste the pictures on the board in two
columns. Ask critical thinking Q to brainstorm ideas.
Activity 1: Class discussion on C.W Qs. Written work to be done in notebooks after the
feedback session.
Activity 2: Students to imagine ‘if I were a bird, what would my life be’. Expected response
could be: - I would sing a song and fly the whole day long - I would go in my cozy bed and rest
at night - I would visit the flowers, sit on the grass…
Activity 3: Pair work: Compare & contrast cage-birds vs free birds. Select words from the
poem that describe the two birds. Write phrases in two columns.
