INSTRUCTION TO CANDIDATES.
This paper consists of three sections A, B and C.
Answer four questions.
Section A question 1 and 2 are compulsory.
Answer one question from section B and one question from section C.
Credit will be given for the use of relevant sketch maps, diagrams and specific examples
studied in field.
Any additional question(s) answered will not be marked.
SECTION A Question 1 and 2 are compulsory.
1. Study EAST AFRICA 1: 50,000 (UGANDA): NAKASONGOLA, Map extract sheet
50/2 series Y732 Edition 1- USD and answer the questions that follow
a) (i) State the grid reference of a bore hole south of wibinyonyi. ( 01 mark )
(ii)Identify the feature found at grid reference 397463 ( 01 mark)
(b )Determine the bearing of Naimalye hill (grid reference 415412) from county Headquartors
east of Wabele. (03 marks)
ci) reduce the area shown on the map extract by 21/3 and on the outline sketch mark and name;
-seasonal swamps,
- lubani, wakibombo and Namalye hills
- upland and low land areas,
-loose surface and dry weather roads. (11marks)
ii) Calculate the new scale of the reduced sketch (02marks)
d) Describe the;
(i) the relief between relief human activities (03marks)
(ii) using evidence from the map extract, state the Problems faced by people living in this area
(04marks)
