REFLECTION PAPER
WEEK 1
(January 14 – January 16)
During my first week of on-the-job training at NLRC RAB 10, I felt both
thrilled and excited as I entered an unfamiliar environment and community.
It was a new experience for me, and I had the opportunity to meet many new
people. I was assigned to assist as an administrative aide, where I was
introduced to various office tasks and responsibilities. At the beginning, I was
not confident in handling my work since everything was new to me. I often
asked my supervisor questions regarding paperwork to better understand
the protocols and procedures. This helped me gradually become more
familiar with my tasks. Overall, my first week marked the beginning of my
learning journey in the workplace, and I look forward to gaining more
knowledge and improving my skills in the coming weeks.
Learning experiences and Realizations
Entering an unfamiliar workplace initially brought a mix of excitement
and hesitation. My primary realization this week is that effective
communication is the foundation of professional growth. At the start, I felt a
lack of confidence due to the novelty of the tasks. However, by proactively
asking my supervisor questions regarding protocols and procedures, I was
able to mitigate errors and gain a clearer understanding of my role. I learned
that being an "Administrative Aide" requires not just clerical skill, but also
the initiative to seek clarity and the
adaptability to learn new systems
quickly.
WEEK 2
(January 19 – January 23)
Now in my second week at the NLRC-RAB 10, I have transitioned into
more hands-on responsibilities. Utilizing the foundations from my first week, I
am gaining a deeper understanding of the Administrative Department's
workflow and am increasingly confident in executing tasks with minimal
supervision. I spent time organizing and updating case files to make sure
everything was complete and in the right order. I also helped double-check
documents for any missing attachments before they were submitted or filed.
On top of that, I handled the photocopying and scanning of various records
needed for official use. This week, I began to understand the pace of work
and the importance of accuracy in every small detail.
Learning experiences and Realizations
This week, I realized that in a legal environment like the NLRC, there is
no such thing as a "small" task. Whether I was scanning a page or checking
for a missing attachment, I learned that even a tiny oversight can delay an
entire case. Accuracy isn’t just about following rules; it’s about ensuring the
whole system runs smoothly for the people who need it. I also realized how
much of a difference taking initiative makes. Instead of just sitting around
waiting for instructions, I started looking for small ways to help out, like
tidying up files or getting documents ready. This really helped me build a
better relationship with the staff and made me feel a lot more confident in
the office.
WEEK 3
(January 26 – January 30)
By the final week of January and my third week at NLRC-RAB 10, I had
already adjusted well to the office environment and became more confident
in handling my tasks. I was able to independently manage the complaint
filing process and ensure documents were complete and accurate. I also took
responsibility for digitizing and sending files through Gmail, which helped me
understand the importance of efficiency and clear communication in the
workplace. I also had the rewarding experience of guiding the Senior High
School students from the ABCCA strand during their work immersion journey.
Acting as a mentor to them not only helped the office run smoother but also
reinforced my own understanding of our procedures.
Learning experiences and Realizations
This week made me realize that being a successful intern is about
more than just following instructions; it is about being proactive and helping
others succeed as well. By mastering my responsibilities to the point where I
no longer need constant supervision, I have gained the confidence to support
my coworkers and lead the younger students. I have learned that taking
initiative and being detail-oriented are the best ways to build a strong
professional reputation.
WEEK 4
(February 2 – February 6)
During the first week of February, my OJT experience became more
exciting as new interns from Bukidnon State University arrived. Meeting new
people once again made me feel enthusiastic and eager to build new
connections and become their workmate. It reminded me of my first days,
and I felt more confident this time because I was already familiar with the
environment and tasks.
the week was also affected by bad weather, which caused the suspension of
our duty for two days. this week was a mix of excitement and adjustment. It
allowed me to reflect on my growth, as I am now more comfortable in the
workplace and ready to guide or interact with new interns while continuing to
improve my skills.
Learning experiences and Realizations
This week was a pretty big turning point for me as a student intern. I
had to get used to a whole new group of people when the new batch of
interns arrived, which really pushed me to step up my communication and
social skills. It was a cool feeling to realize that because I’ve been here
longer, I actually felt confident and comfortable enough to help them out and
interact with everyone easily. I’ve realized that growing in this OJT isn't just
about the tasks I do, but also about how I handle new people and
unexpected situations, which is definitely making me more adaptable and
responsible.
WEEK 5
(February 9 – February 13)
This week was pretty smooth and steady for my OJT since I’ve really
gotten the hang of my daily routine. Doing my usual tasks over and over has
actually been great because it’s making me feel way more consistent and
comfortable with my responsibilities. On Wednesday, I was excused from
duty because our research group was selected to compete in a research
colloquium. So, our teacher called us so that they can teach us on what to do
during the exact research colloquium next week. I felt proud and grateful for
the opportunity, as it was a great experience to represent our work. Overall,
this week was simple yet meaningful, as I was able to balance both my OJT
responsibilities and academic commitments.
Learning experiences and Realizations
This week, I learned the importance of consistency in doing my tasks,
as performing my usual duties helped me become more efficient and
confident in my work. I also realized that being familiar with my
responsibilities makes it easier to complete tasks accurately and on time.
being excused to join the research colloquium made me realize the
importance of balancing academic responsibilities and work. It reminded me
that both experiences contribute to my growth and development. I realized
that even a normal week can still help me improve and prepare for future
challenges.
WEEK 6
(February 16 – February 20)
This week was all about productivity and teamwork. I worked really
closely with my co-interns, and we all stepped up to support each other with
the administrative side of things. We teamed up to get documents organized,
and make sure all the compliance files were properly endorsed. It felt like our
teamwork in the department actually got a lot stronger this week, and
helping each other out definitely made us get through the tasks much faster
and more efficiently. we had a day off for Chinese New Year. It was a good
reminder of how important it is to be culturally aware and respect different
traditions in the workplace. As I mentioned before, my group also took part
in the research colloquium this week. Even though we didn't end up in the
top spots, I’m still really thankful for the whole experience. It was such a
great learning moment for me because I got to build my confidence, work on
my presentation skills, and really appreciate all the hard work we put into
our research.
Learning experiences and Realizations
This week really taught me a lot about how important it is to respect
different cultures and traditions, especially during celebrations like Chinese
New Year. It made me realize that being part of a professional workplace
also means being aware and considerate of the people around you.
Reflecting on the research colloquium, I learned that success isn't always
about winning or getting a trophy—it’s more about the experience you gain
and how much you improve your skills along the way. Even though we didn't
place in the top, the effort we put in as a team and the confidence I built
were totally worth it. I 've realized that every single experience, whether it's
a holiday break or a big competition, is helping me grow both personally and
professionally.
WEEK 7
(February 23 – February 27)
I continued handling filing complain, recording compliance documents,
and ensuring proper document routing within the department. This week has
been a busy one, as many complaints were filed in our workstation. Because
of this, I, together with my supervisor and fellow interns, worked closely and
helped each other to complete all the tasks. Despite the pressure, it was a
good experience for me because I learned how to cooperate and manage
work in a fast-paced environment. However, I was absent on Thursday since I
was not feeling well due to the workload.
Learning experiences and Realizations
This week, I learned the importance of teamwork and proper time
management, especially during busy situations. Handling multiple
complaints helped me improve my patience, communication, and ability to
stay organized under pressure. I also realized that supporting one another in
the workplace makes tasks easier and more efficient. Additionally, I
understood the importance of taking care of my health, as too much
workload can affect my well-being.
WEEK 8
(March 2 – March 6)
The first week of march. I really felt like I hit my stride this
week since I was just sticking to my regular routine in the
Administrative Department. Because I’m already so used to how
everything works, I was able to get through my tasks much faster
and handle my responsibilities without having to ask for much
help. This week was also a busy one. I had a half day due to
guidance, but tasks continued to pile up because there was an
issue in the finance or accounting station. Because of this, we
interns worked together to check and find the conflict in the
papers. It was physically tiring, but I felt mentally happy and
fulfilled because the experience allowed me to enjoy the work and
build a stronger connection with my fellow interns.
Learning experiences and Realizations
The first week of March really showed me how much I’ve
grown in my role within the Administrative Department. Since I’m
so used to the routine now, I was able to fly through my tasks
with way less supervision than before, which made me realize
how much consistency and practice actually pay off. Even though
it was a pretty hectic week—especially with the half-day schedule
and some issues popping up in the finance and accounting
section—it turned out to be a really good learning experience. My
co-interns and I had to team up to review documents and track
down errors, and even though it was honestly exhausting, it
taught me a lot about patience, being detail-oriented, and how
important teamwork is when things get stressful. I felt both
mentally fulfilled and happy. This experience not only
strengthened my skills but also helped me build better
relationships with my co-interns, making the work more enjoyable
and meaningful.
WEEK 9
(March 9 – March 12)
This week was a bit of a different because we switched to a 4-day
workweek, which meant being at the office from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Even
though the days were a lot longer, I actually adjusted pretty quickly and was
able to keep up with all my tasks without any issues. On March 12th at 3:00
PM, we all joined the Labor Arbiters and the rest of the staff for an
earthquake drill. It was a good reminder of how important safety and being
prepared are in a professional workplace. Overall, the week taught me a lot
about being flexible when the schedule changes and staying alert no matter
how long the shift is. Also, I was excused from my internship because of our
graduation pictorial at school. Our school also organized a job fair, which
gave me the opportunity to explore different career options. I took this
chance to apply to several jobs, which helped me gain confidence and
experience in the application process. It made me realize the importance of
being prepared for my future career and taking opportunities seriously.
Learning experiences and Realizations
This week, even though I was excused from my internship due to our
graduation pictorial, I was still able to gain valuable experiences. Attending
the job fair allowed me to explore different job opportunities and understand
what companies are looking for in applicants. I learned the importance of
being confident and prepared when applying for jobs. Submitting multiple
applications also helped me realize that taking initiative is important for
building my future career.
WEEK 10
(March 16 – March 19)
During my second week as an intern, I had to work half days because I
needed to attend a guidance interview required for graduation. Even though
my time at work was limited, I still tried to complete my tasks and stay
responsible. I was not able to fully assist in some office tasks as I had to
prioritize completing my required documents. Some days were normal, while
others were busy, which helped me continue improving my time
management and adaptability. I also felt more motivated to work, especially
with the upcoming holiday on Friday.
Learning experiences and Realizations
Dealing with half-days for my guidance interview actually taught me a
lot about time management. It was a good reality check on how to balance
my actual internship duties with my school requirements. Between the slow
shifts and the super busy ones, I’ve had to learn how to stay productive
regardless of the pace. This week really drove home the importance of
staying committed and responsible, even when I'm working with a tighter
schedule than usual.
WEEK 11
(March 23 – March 27)
This week marked my final week as an intern at NLRC RAB 10 as I
completed my required 400 hours. Although I initially had only 380 hours,
our group was selected to participate in a research colloquium, which
granted us additional hours and allowed me to complete my OJT
requirement. This week was also special because it coincided with the
celebration of Women’s Month. It became one of the most enjoyable weeks
during my internship, filled with food, singing, and dancing. These activities
gave me the chance to bond more with my co-interns and the staff, making
my last days memorable and fun.
Learning experiences and Realizations
During my final week as an intern at NLRC RAB 10, I realized the
importance of taking opportunities, such as participating in the research
colloquium, which helped me complete my required hours. This experience
taught me to stay active and involved because it can bring unexpected
benefits. I also learned that work is not only about completing tasks but also
about building relationships and enjoying the experience. Celebrating
Women’s Month with the staff and my fellow interns showed me the value of
teamwork, connection, and a positive work environment. Overall, I realized
that my internship journey was not just about fulfilling hours, but about
personal growth, gaining confidence, and creating meaningful memories that
I will carry into my future career.
