Good evening, everyone. First of all, thank you po sa pag-attend.

For those who

don’t know me yet, I’m Mercy, President of Indak Batangan, and I will be one of the
Head Facilitators for Dance Idol 2026.

Tonight, I will be discussing the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of

the said activity.

Ang flow po na gagawin natin tonight ay: I will discuss the guidelines first. After
that, doon tayo mag-oopen ng mic for clarifications, questions, and
yon?

So I’ll start going through the IRR now na po. Feel free to take notes po, and hold
your questions muna—we’ll address everything properly at the end.

Una na po jan ay ang Proposed Date, which is sa February 23, 2026 (Monday), ito po
ay 2nd to the last day ng ating Pistang Sinta.

Now, let me explain the rationale behind this activity. Bale ang sinasabi lang po jan
ay “Dance Idol is not just a competition. Ang purpose po nito is to showcase
creativity, teamwork, and identity of each of the participating academic
organizations. It’s about kung paano ang ating mga program magwowork together,
supports each other, and magpapakita ng something meaningful sa ating mga
kapwa iskolar ng bayan.

Now that we’re clear on the purpose, pag usapan naman po natin who are eligible
to participate.
“Participation is exclusive to the academic organizations of PUP STC and
PUP Talisay.”
This means only officially recognized academic organizations lang po ang allowed
mag participate.
And for proper accreditation, monitoring, and documentation naman po ng inyong
pagsali, “Each participating organization must complete the official
registration form.” No registration means no official participation po tayo.

Now let’s proceed to the core of the discussion—the Implementing Rules and
Regulations or the IRR.

Rule 1: “Each participating department is required to field a team

consisting of no fewer than ten (10) and no more than twenty (20)
performers.”
Ayun po very basic, team composition.

Rule 2: Each performance must have a minimum duration of three (3)
minutes and a maximum of five (5) minutes only.”

Rule 3: “Participants are required to submit their music tracks prior to the
scheduled event by the specified deadline.”

language or inappropriate words are allowed in the music.”

Rule 5: “Stunts must be performed with restraint and should not be

excessive in nature.”
Rule 6: “All participants are required to wear proper and coordinated
costumes appropriate for their performance.” “Costumes contribute sa overall
impact and professionalism ng performance.

Ito naman pong Rule 7, talks about your stage conduct, sabi po jan “Throwing of
trash, water, or any objects on stage or within the venue during the
performance is strictly prohibited.”

Rule 8: “The decision to have a choreographer shall be at the discretion of

each participating program.” May freedom naman po kayo dito. Pwedeng self-

Now that malinaw na ang bawat rule, let’s talk about what happens kapag hindi ito
nasunod.

Ang sabi po jan ay “Failure to comply with Rule No. 1 will automatically
disqualify the entry, while violations of Rules No. 2 to 7 will result in a
five-point deduction from the total score.”

nature nila.
Rule 1 is about eligibility.
required number of performers, hindi na pantay ang comparison with other teams.
It affects fairness, stage dynamics, at judging standards. Kaya automatic
disqualification po ang consequence nyan.

On the other hand, Rules 2 to 7 are compliance-based rules. Ibig sabihin,

That’s why ang
disqualification.

Now that we’re clear on the penalties and consequences, let’s move on to the
creative side ng ating competition. So for the theme guidelines,

- Programs are free to choose any theme for their performance.

- The chosen theme must comply with all competition rules and be
appropriate for the PUP Sto. Tomas community.

Binibigyan naman po naming kayo ng freedom to explore any concept or story na

gusto ninyong ipakita. That’s why hindi po or wala po kaming inilagay na prescribed
theme. However, creative freedom always comes with responsibility. So kahit

Now let’s move on to the criteria for judging, para malinaw sa lahat kung paano
ie-evaluate ang bawat performance.”

“First is Originality, which has the highest weight at thirty percent (30%). Dito

“Next is Choreography, with a weight of twenty percent (20%).

“Third is Synchronization, also weighted at twenty percent (20%). Dahil group

“Next is Creativity, which accounts for fifteen percent (15%) of the total score.

“And lastly, Overall Impact, also weighted at fifteen percent (15%).

For the major awards meron po tayong
champion, 2nd place and 3rd place.
best in costume, crowd favorite, & best male and female dancer.

“Lastly, we have the general provisions, which serve as the final reminders and
guiding principles for the entire activity

So Provision 1 talks about the Authority of the Organizing Committee, so ito po ang
Kapag
walang ganitong provision, nagiging mahirap mag-control ng event at mag-address
ng violations.

This also protects the participating organizations, dahil lahat po kayo ay sakop ng
iisang standard.

Provision 2 –All decisions made by the judges are final and irrevocable.”
Matic na po ito para maiwasan natin ang disputes during the event proper dahil
iaassure ko naman po kayo na kapag kumuha kami ng judges ay they are selected
based on expertise and credibility, kaya kailangan po nating i-respect ang
professional judgment nila.

Provision 3 naman po talks about the conflict of interest policy. Sabi po jan, Indak
Batangan officers, Central Student Council officers, and Junior Council
officers are not allowed to participate, judge, or influence any
choreography or performance in Dance Idol. Ayan so nag eexist po ito to
prevent conflict of interest. Since involved ang mga organizers and officers sa
planning and decision-making ng event, hindi kami pwedeng sumali, mag-judge, or
maka-influence ng performances. This is to make sure na fair ang laban at walang
bias.

Provision 4 - “Indak Batangan officers have the discretion to oversee the

management of their organization’s dance team.”
. Our
members are allowed to participate in Dance Idol as part of their respective
academic organizations, as long as they are not holding any officer position sa
aming org, Indak Batangan, sa CSC, or Junior Council.” “Bale ito pong provision na
ito ay nag eexists to balance two things: the right of our members to
participate at ung responsibility ng Indak Batangan officers to manage and
protect our dance group.”

makialam unless it’s about rules and regulations. Ang goal ng provision 5 and 6 is to
simply clear separation between facilitators and competitors. Para
siguradong patas po ang laban at walang kahit anong issue of bias, actual man or
perceived.”

Okay so thank you for listening and for your attention throughout the discussion.
“That concludes the discussion of the Implementing Rules and Regulations for
Dance Idol 2026. At this point, we will now open the floor for concerns,
clarifications, or questions na po.
“Thank you for raising your concerns and for actively participating in the
discussion.”
“All clarifications that were addressed today ay magseserve po as our official
reference moving forward. Para malinaw, whatever was clarified here applies
equally to all participating academic organizations.”

“If may further questions after this meeting, you may coordinate with the organizing
committee po. Thank you po and we look forward to a smooth, fair, and successful
Dance Idol 2026 with all of you.

Thank you po!
