CONTEMPORARY ARTS FROM THE REGION

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE: Shredded Paper Quilled Mosaic

Objective

To create a paper mosaic that explores texture, and composition using paper as
a primary medium, while encouraging conceptual thinking and material
experimentation using the shredded paper quilled mosaic.

Materials
 Variety of papers (magazines, newspapers, colored paper, handmade
paper, recycled scratch paper or paper packaging, tissue paper)
 Base surface (thick paper or cartoon, cardboard, or canvass board)
 Cutting tools (scissors, cutter, craft knife)
 Adhesive (glue stick or white glue)
 Paint or any color materials
 Pencil and ruler (optional)

Concept Development
1. Choose a theme or idea
Examples: identity, urban landscapes, original ideas or internet for
references (note: give credit to the original artist by indicating his/her
artwork or name in front or back of the paper)
2. Decide on an approach
o Abstract or representational
o Organic shapes or any personal design
o Any design or style from internet (note: give credit to the original
artist by indicating his/her artwork or name in front or back of the
paper)

Guidelines:
1. Appreciate artwork of any design from the internet or own ideas.
