1. Meaning of Environment

Environment refers to everything that surrounds us and affects life. It includes both living (biotic)
and non-living (abiotic) components.

2. Types of Environment

Natural Environment: Created by nature; includes forests, rivers, mountains.

Human-made Environment: Created by humans; includes buildings, roads, industries.

Social Environment: Includes culture, traditions, laws, and institutions.

3. Components of Environment

Biotic Components: Plants, animals, humans, microorganisms.
