Place Value System


The value of a digit depends on its place in the number.

Indian System

Example

45,67,321
=4 ten lakhs + 5 lakhs + 6 ten thousands + 7 thousands + 3 hundreds + 2 tens + 1 once
Forty-Five Lakh Sixty-Seven Thousand Three Hundred Twenty-One

Example

Write each of the numbers given below in words:

Ans) (a) 3,00,600 — Three lakh six hundred

(b) 5,04,085
