1. What is an entrepreneur?

An entrepreneur is a person who creates and manages a business by taking risks


and turning ideas into reality. They find opportunities to solve problems and
improve people’s lives through their products or services. Entrepreneurs are
known for being creative, hardworking, and determined to achieve success
despite challenges.

2. Can you name at least one (1) well-known entrepreneur? Write brief
information about their successful business.

One well-known Filipino entrepreneur is Tony Tan Caktiong, the founder of


Jollibee Foods Corporation. He started with a small ice cream parlor in Manila,
but when he noticed that people preferred hot meals, he decided to serve Filipino-
style fast food. His business grew rapidly and became the biggest fast-food chain
in the Philippines, even expanding to other countries.

3. What qualities and skills are needed to become a good entrepreneur?


Good Entrepreneur must have this kind of skill and quantities, and these are:

Creativity (Personal Trait): Helps entrepreneurs come up with new ideas and
unique products that attract customers.
Perseverance (Personal Trait): Allows them to stay strong and keep trying even
when facing difficulties.
Leadership (Leadership Skill): Important for guiding and inspiring a team to work
toward business goals.
Financial Management (Technical Skill): Helps in budgeting, saving, and using
money wisely to keep the business stable.

4. Do you think you would make a good entrepreneur? Justify your answer.

Yes, I believe I would make a good entrepreneur because I am creative, patient,


and willing to take risks. I enjoy thinking of new ideas and finding ways to solve
problems. I also understand that success requires hard work and learning from
mistakes, which are important traits for becoming a successful business owner.

Corazon Bautista started Corazon’s Karinderya with a small capital and a big
dream to serve delicious and affordable Filipino meals to her community. She
began by cooking simple home-style dishes like adobo, sinigang, and sisig
from her own kitchen, selling them to nearby neighborhoods and students.
Over time, her dedication to providing tasty and freshly prepared food helped
her earn loyal customers and build a steady income.

Like many small business owners, Corazon faced challenges along the way.
During the first few years, she struggled to balance her budget, compete with
other eateries, and reduce leftover food. However, she remained patient and
learned to adapt by offering daily menu variety and meal packages for groups.
Through her hard work, resourcefulness, and genuine care for her customers,
Corazon’s Karinderya became a well-loved spot in her area, proving that
consistency and passion are key to entrepreneurial success.
