CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Agriculture requires efficient water management. Traditional irrigation wastes water and
needs manual supervision. This project uses solar energy and automation for irrigation using soil
moisture sensor and microcontroller.
CHAPTER 2: PROBLEM STATEMENT
Irrigation depends on manual work and unreliable electricity. Over and under watering
affects crops. A system is needed to automate irrigation using renewable energy.
CHAPTER 3: OBJECTIVES
Develop automatic irrigation using soil moisture sensor, reduce water wastage, and use
solar energy.
CHAPTER 4: LITERATURE REVIEW
Various irrigation systems evolved from manual to sensor-based and IoT-based systems
improving efficiency.
CHAPTER 5: METHODOLOGY
System includes solar panel, battery, sensor, microcontroller, relay and pump working
automatically.
CHAPTER 6: NEED OF PROJECT
Water scarcity and manual irrigation problems require an automated solar solution.
CHAPTER 7: WORKFLOW
Sensor detects moisture → microcontroller processes → relay activates pump → stops when
moisture is sufficient.
CHAPTER 8: DESIGN
Integration of solar panel, microcontroller, relay and pump for efficient irrigation.
CHAPTER 9: SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
Sensor → Controller → Relay → Pump controlled using solar power.
CHAPTER 10: WORKING
Pump turns ON when soil is dry and OFF when moisture is adequate.
CHAPTER 11: COMPONENTS USED
Solar panel, battery, Arduino, sensor, relay, pump.
CHAPTER 12: RESULTS
System works automatically and reduces water wastage.
CHAPTER 13: CONCLUSION
Efficient, eco-friendly irrigation using solar energy.
CHAPTER 14: FUTURE SCOPE
IoT integration, rain sensor, better automation.
