Abstract

Abstract (200-300)

In order to manage the increasing plastic waste in the United Kingdom, suitable recycling
strategies are used that also maintain the richness of the environment while conserving resources.
Recycling, plastic waste management and sustainable recycling are three interwoven terms that
aid in regulating the plastic waste concern globally. The research study investigates sustainable
plastic recycling in the UK by emphasising the concept and current state of plastic recycling. In
addition to this, the study focuses on the current policies, along with their effectiveness in the
UK, and the emerging technological advancements in plastic recycling. Considering the topic at
hand, the secondary data is used by employing three case studies of the UK to get deeper insights
and comprehension. In this regard, the study also looks at the Seaside plastic story of
Portsmouth, UK, the Extended Producer Responsibility Program: UK and sustainable plastic
recycling by converting the waste to fuel. Finally, this research project analysis at the end that
the UK is struggling in terms of recycling infrastructure; however, the different policies of the
government are positively supporting sustainable recycling. Additionally, with the advanced
technologies, the plastic concern in the UK is regulated, which also offers the waste-to-fuel
benefits.
