Reflection: Fear of Failure

A Reflection on Fear of FailureFear of failing has been a problem for me at work and in my
life. I first felt this fear when I was in school and began to link making mistakes with feeling
bad about myself and being let down. I started to realize that I missed a lot of chances
because I was afraid I wouldn't do well enough. As I started to think more seriously about my
career and school goals, this fear became more real and harder to ignore. It usually happens
when I have to deal with something new or [Link] a scale from 0 to 10, this fear would

and makes me less sure of myself. This fear can make it hard for me to move forward and
stop me from fully taking advantage of opportunities that could help my [Link] way I
could get over this fear is to do things that make me uncomfortable, even if I might fail. This
might mean setting goals that are doable and letting myself learn from my mistakes instead of
being hard on myself for them. I am ready to do this by being nice to myself and focusing on
getting better instead of being perfect. I think I can make this fear less of a problem in my life
and work by taking small, steady steps.
