Interview questions
1. Tell me about yourself?
First of all thank you very much for giving me opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is........I am ....years old .......I’m cadet of Barombaong Maritime
Polytechnic. I’m technical/Nautical department. My hobby is …… etc.
2. What is your greatest weakness?
I’m serious man. I work very serious. Sometimes I forget to stop working. I also
have little problem with my memory. I sometimes forget my job but I anticipated
by taking a note so that I never forget it again.
3. What are your stranghts?
By asking you about your strengths, here is what the interviewer is looking for:
They want to know if you know your own strengths
They want to know if you’re realistic
They want to know if your strengths are relevant for the job
E.g.: I work pretty well under pressure. I’m a person who has good responsibility. I
can work overtime. I love work in team
4. Do you work well under pressure? Possible answers:
- I work under pressure because I use the pressure to help me work more
efficiently.
- I enjoy working under pressure because I believe it will grow me.
- I work under pressure because I don’t panic. I maintain self-control and work
as efficiently as possible.
In my experiences, I did well and I always enjoyed the experience.
5. Are you willing to work overtime?
The reason why the interviewer asks this question is not only to test your
willingness, but also to evaluate your determination and motivation to work
overtime. After all, working long hours is quite common on board the ship.
E.g.: I do understand that it will occasionally be necessary on board the ship
to work overtime and I have no issue on that because I used to work
overtime on in my campus.
6. Do you have any questions?
This question gives you a fantastic opportunity to stand out from the crowd and
show your knowledge and passion for the company you are applying for.
Tips: # Never say “No, I think I’m good.” Always have questions ready. # Don’t ask
benefits too early in the
process.
