Case Study 1: Child Labor and Education
Ali’s situation shows problems like child labor, poverty, limited ac-
cess to education, and lack of awareness among parents. Due to fi-
nancial pressure, his family depends on his income, even though he
wants to continue his studies. This highlights how economic survival
often becomes more important than education in low-income fami-
lies.
A social worker can support Ali by counseling his parents about the
importance of education, helping them understand long-term bene-
fits, and connecting them to government or NGO support such as
free schooling, scholarships, or financial aid. The social worker can
also ensure that Ali’s rights are protected and monitor his progress.
To balance the family’s financial needs and Ali’s education, steps
like conditional cash transfers, flexible school timings, vocational
training along with studies, and welfare programs can be intro-
duced. These options allow him to study while reducing financial
stress on the family.
Community awareness can help reduce child labor by educating
people about children’s rights, encouraging schooling, and promot-
ing collective responsibility to prevent exploitation.
Case Study 2: Domestic Violence and Women Empowerment
Sara’s case reflects domestic violence, gender inequality, financial
dependence, and lack of awareness about legal rights. She is un-
able to leave her abusive environment due to fear of social stigma,
lack of income, no strong support system, and limited knowledge of
legal protections.
A social worker should first focus on her safety by arranging access
to shelters, legal aid, emergency services, and counseling. Creating
a safety plan and offering emotional support are essential immedi-
ate steps.
In the long term, empowerment programs can help Sara rebuild her
life by providing skill development, employment opportunities, fi-
nancial literacy, and awareness of her legal rights. Support groups
can also help her regain confidence and independence.
Overall, improving women’s education, financial independence, and
awareness is key to helping them escape abusive situations and live
safely.
Case Study 3: Drug Abuse Among Youth
Ahmed’s drug addiction developed due to peer pressure, lack of
parental awareness, and possible mental health issues. His condi-
tion has led to poor academic performance and social isolation from
his family.
A social worker can help by providing counseling, involving mental
health professionals, referring him to rehabilitation services, and
creating a recovery plan. Continuous guidance and emotional sup-
port are important for his improvement.
Family members and educational institutions can play a preventive
role by maintaining open communication, identifying early warning
signs, and offering counseling and awareness programs.
At the community level, strategies such as awareness campaigns,
youth engagement activities, accessible counseling centers, and
promoting positive peer influence can help reduce drug abuse
among young people.
Case Study 4: Elderly Neglect and Social Isolation
Mr. Khan’s situation highlights elderly neglect, social isolation, lack
of family support, and declining health. He feels lonely and ignored,
which has affected both his physical and mental well-being.
A social worker can improve his condition by arranging family coun-
seling, ensuring regular healthcare, and encouraging participation
in social and community activities. Home visits and monitoring can
also help support him.
Families can be educated about the importance of elderly care
through awareness programs that emphasize emotional support, re-
spect, and shared responsibility.
Community services such as senior citizen centers, social groups,
day-care programs, and home-care support can reduce isolation
and help elderly individuals stay active and connected.
Task 5 :- Current Affair of Iran and Israel War :
The ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel has escalated into a
serious regional crisis with wider global implications. What initially
began with targeted military strikes has now turned into continuous
exchanges of missiles, drone attacks, and counter-operations, with
involvement from allies such as the United States. The conflict has
also spread beyond the two countries, affecting neighboring regions
and raising tensions across the Middle East. One major concern is
the threat to important global trade routes like the Strait of Hormuz,
which has caused fluctuations in oil prices and economic uncer-
tainty worldwide. Despite ongoing discussions about a temporary
ceasefire, the situation remains unstable, with both sides continuing
military actions.
In my opinion, this conflict is no longer just a direct confrontation
between two countries but a complex geopolitical issue involving
power struggles, security concerns, and regional influence. Both
sides are engaged in continuous retaliation, making it difficult to
achieve peace, while civilians remain the most affected through loss
of life, displacement, and destruction of infrastructure. The war is
also impacting the global economy, especially through rising energy
prices and disrupted trade. In my view, there is no real benefit to
prolonged conflict, as it only deepens instability and human suffer-
ing. A peaceful resolution through dialogue, international mediation,
and reduced military aggression is essential to prevent the situation
from worsening further.
