ABSTRACT
This study aimed to examine the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools for
academic purposes among Senior High School students at Dolores Stand
Alone Senior High School during the School Year 2025–2026. The study
employed a descriptive quantitative research design, and participants were
selected using multi-stage purposive sampling. Data were gathered from 114
respondents through a structured survey questionnaire. The results revealed
that many students frequently use AI tools to assist with academic tasks such
as research, writing, and completing assignments, indicating that AI
technologies have become a widely used support tool in students’ learning
processes. However, the findings also showed that students expressed concerns
regarding data privacy, the accuracy of AI-generated information, and the
possibility of overreliance on these technologies. These results highlight the
importance of promoting responsible and ethical AI usage in educational
settings. The findings provide valuable insights for students, teachers, school
administrators, policymakers, and other stakeholders in developing effective
guidelines and policies for the proper use of AI tools in schools. Future
research may further explore the long-term effects of AI tool usage on students’
academic performance, learning independence, and critical thinking skills to
strengthen and validate the results of this study.
